We have dates for our third MOAC week. We're trying to move around to different parts of the country, and for October 2017, we'll be in Paducah, Kentucky. Registration for MOAC is now full, but if you are interested in registering, we strongly suggest you get on the waitlist. To be added to the waitlist, fill out the registration form. A deposit is not required, but if a slot opens the first person on the waitlist will be contacted to make the required class payments due. The class will be limited to a maximum of 20 students, shot all on steel, with an approximate 4,000 round count. Prior to the start of class, students should have completed OpSpec Training’s Practical Fundamentals class or have attended an equivalent trigger control-based program from another training organization within the past 36 months. If you have the training experience, solid gun-handling skills, and can draw from the holster and reliably hit an 8-inch target from 5 yards in under 1.5 seconds you meet the prerequisites for this advanced program. We're announcing this class 11 months in advance, so you've got plenty of time to prepare, plus we've set up a payment plan schedule. MOAC MOAC is a five-day, 40 hour, high round count pistol course designed to take the intermediate shooter and provide them with the tools to become an advanced or expert shooter. OpSpec Training alumni frequently request a long-duration program – building upon our flagship two-day Practical Fundamentals program – designed to enforce and develop persistent, durable skills. MOAC develops these skills through repetition and process oriented marksmanship. Read everything you need to know about MOAC right here, and the details and information about the class in Paducah is posted here and we will update as we have more information. Interested in class testimonials from students? We also have them posted here, and many students will share their experiences with you if you ask. They will not share details about drills with you, but they will provide you with general info. Instructors*: Jerry Jones and others. Most likely there will be at least four or five OpSpec staff members on-site for the week. When: Oct. 16 - 20, 2017, eight hours each day. Exact times TBD. Where: The range will be in the Paducah, Ky. area, and details will be shared with students who enroll in the class. Class size: Limited to 20 students. Tuition: $995 A deposit of $245 holds your spot, with additional payments due on a specified schedule.
This payment scheduled is different than our normal classes. This class is in high demand, and we want to provide everyone the ability to sign up early so they can make travel arrangements as needed. Range Fees: $20 per day, to be paid in cash to the range on the first day of class. Local Host: Jerry Jones Ammunition: Round count for MOAC will be approximately 4,000 rounds Enrolled students will be able to ship or drop ship ammunition and gear to the training location. We strongly suggest shooting a compact (think P229) to full-sized (think P226), 9mm pistol during this class. Important Links and Information
Along with reviewing our What to Bring page, note you'll also need at least six magazines, four magazine carriers and 50 dummy rounds. We suggest the Saf-T-Trainers from Brownells. Understand some of the dummy rounds will break during training. Where to Stay Our host hotel is the La Quinta Inn & Suites, located at 3960 Coleman Crossing Circle in Paducah. The hotel offers a 15% discount to students taking a class with us. To receive the discount, please call the hotel direct at (270) 443-4800 and mention you are taking a class with OpSpec Training. Ensure you book early, as discounted room availability may be limited. The property was built in 2015 and is located less than 10 minutes from the range. Hotel amenities include free high-speed Internet access, free “Bright Side” breakfast, an indoor pool and spa. Trip Advisor reviews are positive, but do note La Quinta does welcome pets to their hotels. * Instructors listed for specific programs have committed to teach the class on those dates. Although we do not anticipate changes, travel delays, family emergencies or illness may result in instructor substitutions. This message has been edited. Class is about half full. 2016 students graduated yesterday. Logistics and planning for 2017 started last night. If anyone else is remotely interested in MOAC for '17 I'd sign up soon.

You're going to feel a little pressure... |
Crap. I might have to sign up, soon. The 2016 class in Mesa was too good! Bruce "The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams “It is just as difficult and dangerous to try to free a people that wants to remain servile as it is to try to enslave a people that wants to remain free." -Niccolo Machiavelli The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

I'm glad to hear that. Rumor is the Alleycat herself is going to make an appearance. It seems like we are getting the band back together... Mark

Looks like rain all weekend. No outside chores means maybe I can finally get a couple Apex barrels fitted and test fired.

If you're interested in this class, note there are currently nine slot taken (with deposits) so there are seven slots remaining. I'm not saying you have to sign up NOW, but just want you to know. Normally, registrations come in "spurts" and we're probably at the end of the first spurt. We are not planning another MOAC class in 2017. Most likely, our next class will be in the late summer/fall of 2018. I haven't seen the 'cat in a while, maybe Morganton NC in 2011. Paducah in 2014 was good. Doesn't seem like 2 years, will be 3+ by next year. Definitely looking forward to this class. I was thinking about you the other day...while I was sorting brass. Can you use a bucket full?

There is no such thing as too much brass, just not enough primers, bullets, and powder... I predict fun and merriment in about 10 months... Be careful of the cat... She has been training and shooting up a storm. She might put a bigger than normal whoopin on us this time... Mark

Signed up and very much excited about the class. All the testimonials I read make me wish it was April. Gonna be a long 10 months! "Think about how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are stupider than that' George Carlin

Sorry, missed this one. Absolutely I'm in... we may be living in the basement of the house we hope to be building by then. I'm so busy getting the land ready in afraid I'm going to be completely rusty. Going to have to find some time to dry fire...

Sounds like fun. She's always ahead of me. There's always some faster or better. Second place to her shooting is no shame. Think if we talk about her enough she might actually pop in and say Hi???

She's around. [/QUOTE] I hear someone has been twisting your arm a bit. Are they having any luck? If you decide to go you can fly into Nashville and I will be your personal Uber driver... You can ship your ammo here as well or I'm sure Jerry can work something out for you Mark
