OWB Retention Holster for P320 with DPP? Login/Join

I really like Safariland ALS holsters, but they do not make one for the P320 with optic installed.

I am not a fan of the GLS.

Does anyone else make a OWB duty style holster with retention?

I have a Gunsite Pistol Range Day coming up and I recently transitioned to the optic. I would love to get some practice with this in under supervision. However, my only holster that works with the optic is an IWB. Gunsite requires OWB.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Safariland has an ALS model that will fit 320s with optics. They also fit weapon with a light attached.

Duty mid-ride 6390 or substitute 6395 for low-ride
6390RDS-4502 full size with an optic and light
6390RDS-7502 compact with an optic and light
Paddle
6378RDS-4502 full size with an optic and light
6378RDS-7502 compact with an optic and light

The Safariland 6360RDS is available for the P320 with red dot. To my knowledge, that's the only option for a quality mass-produced Level 2+ duty holster from a reputable manufacturer. (I wouldn't carry a Level 1 holster on duty...)

Otherwise, you'll need to look at one of the custom duty holster makers. For example, https://www.daraholsters.com/ offers Level 2 and Level 3 retention duty holsters for a wide variety of gun/light/optic combos.

When I use the Safariland Holster finder on their website it says it cannot find a holster for my configuration.

I will try to look it up by the model you suggested

Try this: http://www.copquest.com/safari...ide-duty_23-4500.htm

Using the dropdown box, pick the size, side, finish, and light you want. It'll show the Safariland model number, in the format of 6360RDS-xxxx-xxx

For example, a right-handed holster with plain black finish for a full size P320 with an optic and a TLR-1 is 6360RDS-4502-411.

Or a left-handed holster with a FDE finish for a Carry P320 with an optic and an X300 is 6360RDS-7502-552.

Then you can search for that specific model number, to try to find the best price.

Thanks guys, I knew the right answers would be found here.

That's cool, I have a couple of X300's on other guns.

So I need a 6378RDS with the QLS fork. What would the correct part number be?

If you want one without a light, you'll have to go the custom route.

Drop down list:
https://www.copquest.com/safar...x-finish_23-4900.htm

To get a specific model number, you'll have to decide:

Full Size or Carry/Compact?

Right or Left hand?

STX Plain finish (slightly glossy and smooth, like plastic) or STX Tac finish (matte and slighty rough, like kydex)?

Also, the 6378RDS isn't available from the factory with the QLS fork. It comes with both belt loop and paddle options. But you can buy a separate QLS fork and install it instead of the paddle/loop.

Right Hand, Full Size

STX Tac

Copquest showed a QLS fork option

You're right. They do. But I can't find a specific Safariland part number for the 6378RDS with an included QLS fork, and it's not listed in Safariland's master catalog. (That appears to simply be a bundle that CopQuest put together themselves.)

However, a full size right handed 6378RDS for a full size P320 in STX Tac is Part # 6378RDS-4502-131.

And the QLS fork is Part # 6004-19-2.

Just understand that the 6378 is a Level 1 retention holster, equivalent in retention to a simple leather thumb break holster. Not ideal for uniformed duty use, but fine for range use. If you plan on using this on duty, I highly recommend going with the 6360RDS that has Level 3 retention.

I'm not a cop. I just use the 6378's when I need to open carry. I own several for my other guns.

Safariland needs to fix their holster finder, Its like they don't want my money.

Thanks for the help. I will just put a QLS fork on it.

Let's just say that Safariland isn't really motivated to cater to individual buyers. They get nearly all of their business from retailers and agencies.

So it's no surprise that their website is less than user friendly when it comes to finding and buying single holsters. They do want your money, but don't really want to put any effort into working for it, when there are thousands of big businesses and large agencies literally beating down their doors to place big orders worth buckets of money.

So if a few lone individuals get discouraged by their janky website and take their single holster orders elsewhere, it's a drop in the ocean as far as Safariland's bottom line.

(Not saying it's right, but it's reality. Think of them as the 1990s/2000s-era Heckler & Koch of duty holsters. Wink "Because you suck, and we hate you.")

Rogue got to it before me on both the part #'s and why they are the way they are.

If ordered direct from Safariland, it says it will take ~60 days: http://www.safariland.com/prod...old+-+DeltaPoint+Pro

You might try the Plain finish version. I'm not sure about the relatively new and lower production RDS version, but in standard 6378s, Plain is usually the most commonly available finish.

Part # 6378RDS-4502-411
