pedropcola: I understand your frustration. I would be upset, too. I do wish we were local to each other, I would love to look thru your 320 and figure out what is dragging so rough.
A question: Is your 320 a new style trigger, or old style that has been converted to new style. Reason I ask is I have noticed the new style trigger disconnector is sometimes very tight, and drags the slide. It is fixable, but that takes a chassis disassembly to do so.

Anyway, best of luck. I feel if I could look at your 320, I could identify what is causing the drag, and then take steps to fix it. I am like you, and really like the 320 platform.

I understand your frustration too OP, but you accused them of being smarmy. Didn't you kind of establish that with your telling the that it was bullsh*t and that they could tell you to pound sand and you'd make sure everyone knew it?

Maybe. I think trying to sell it as normal was fucked up. Tell me it’s the ragged side of in spec and I might still argue but ok. Tell me it’s normal you sound like a used car salesman trying to pass off noises from the tranny as “oh, don’t worry about that”.

I think I clearly stated I could have been more professional and courteous but the combo of 2 trips to Exeter and some lame ass nonsense and long day at work made me snappy. Oh well.

Bottom line they are fixing it. Bottom line they are also trying to pass off some bs as normal. I guess they even out in the end to me.

Gun comes back on Thursday. You will know if they fixed it if you find a sale in the classifieds on Friday. Lol. I wouldn’t keep a gun with this characteristic.

Smarmy. Possibly.

I have interchanged this slide with every format I own, sc, compact, fs, and every fcu I own, 5 to be exact. The fcu in question doesn’t exhibit any odd characteristics when coupled with any other slide configuration. Conversely the slide exhibits this no matter what you place it on.

Just because the recoil spring will overcome this rough patch doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue. Hell that means SIG could install a heavier spring in extreme cases to solve this.

My point is and always has been that slide operation should be without obvious hesitation. No rough spots. That isn’t “normal”. Any catching on this rough spot by definition is most likely accelerating wear on the impacted parts. Which when they break early won’t be covered under any warranty.

As for the second owner concerns. SIG entered unusual territory with the voluntary upgrade. Lots of brand new guns were sold immediately. I don’t have the born on date because the box is in Exeter right now but this gun is probably barely a year old. From a legal standpoint their warranty might be invalid with a second owner but from a practical standpoint this friggin gun is brand new. You either make quality or you don’t.

I would buy any of you a steak dinner if I’m wrong on this. Not one of you would have bought this gun if you felt that and heard it. You would buy the gun next to it that didn’t exhibit this “feature”. This is my fault though I bought it sight unseen. Danger of buying off a gun forum. In person I wouldn’t have, nor would you, have bought this gun. Unless you are one of those bubbas who don’t inspect a gun before you buy. Lol

Did you ever try putting the problem slide on one of your other 320 frames and try to reproduce it?

I have dealt with Sig CS on a number of times and they were never anything but helpful and pleasant. Maybe you caught these guys on a bad day, but in the end glad they are fixing it for you

Yep they are fixing it. As to other question, yes I have put the problem slide on 5 different fcu’s and frames and the problem persists. It is a problem with the slide.

The new slide/gun arrives tomorrow so I shall update the masses on whether this resolves the issue.

Yes, I could have handled this nicer. Yes, they could have not been dumb and try to pass off a shoddy work product as normal. I accept my end but Sig shouldn’t have tried to convince me this was normal. In the end though they are doing the right thing so kudos to them. They could have told me to pound sand.

Fair enough. I hope it works out well for you and they get you back up and running.
