Did SiG produce a P226 E2 DAO ?

The did the P226 in DAO, but the E2 specifically in DAO coming from factory? That, I have not seen or heard of. But, the E2, when it was officially introduced at SHOT 2010, is simply the base pistol outfitted with the E2 grip.

E2 = Enhanced Ergonomic

Then, they discontinued the E2 name and just incorporated the grip feature into their lineup.

Enhanced Elite = E2 grip, beavertail frame, front slide serrations

They eventually tossed that name, and the current one is simply “Elite”, which has additional features of the current Legion frame.

12131 knows much more about the history of SIG models and variations than I do, but DAO SIG pistols were always rare, and even more so after the introduction of the DAK models. As I recall, the E2 grip was developed some time after the DAK lineup. It’s not impossible that a DAO with E2 grip could have come from the factory, but seems very unlikely.
