SIGNEXT: P226X- Carry Legion
https://www.sigsauer.com/p226xca-legion.html

Sig dropped a whole bunch of new products last night at their SIGNEXT event. Besides the P211 GTO (their 2011) they also dropped the P226 X Carry Legion. Looks like they're heading down the modular rabbit hole with the P Series as well. From the photos on the site, it looks like we'll have P320ish Recoil springs and 2 barrel/slide options (4.4" and 3.8").

I for one am looking forward to this version of the P226

I like the texturing on the takedown lever. Seems like a good way to add some traction up there without going full douche-pedal and compromising holster fit. I like that they're continuing with the relief cut under the trigger guard and front strap checkering...I'm a big fan of those updates on every gun I own that has them. Not sure about that slide catch lever...I'd have to handle one to see how it feels.

Should have called it the P229 Tall. Lol.

And, why the hell does everything have to be Legion, now?

Width 1.44" and 1.73"? How are some versions so wide? Even 1.44" is on the wide side but tolerable. But who's going to go for 1 3/4 inch wide? Fine for OC I guess but seems like guaranteed printing otherwise.

Not to be cynical, but maybe the 22X pistols are expensive enough to make now that selling Legion versions for Legion prices makes sense but "plain Jane" versions would be too expensive to compete well with other garden variety Wundernines? The 320s (despite recent concerns) and 365s seem to have been selling well enough that it's easy to see SIG preferring to concentrate production capacity on them and making relatively limited runs of higher-priced 22Xs.

We did spend years watching 226 prices creep up and up and up even after people here started grousing about how they were "too expensive".

The 1.44” is typical of the classic P-series SIGs. Nothing new. Where do you get the 1.73”? The widest they had is from those guns with the magazine well funnel, and it’s 1.6”.

Didn't think of that but probably the actual gun is 1.44" and the magwell is 1.73" width.

Could also be the safeties on the SAO models. Usually they’re pretty wide

^^^^ Yep, those too. Otherwise, it’s just the old P-series width.

Needs more serrations. Maybe put some on the optics too. Razz

^ seriously, what is up with putting serrations on the top of the slide? That P320 has them, the new Sig 2011 thing has them. CZ put them on the new P09/P09C Nocturne. Why? Who actually grabs the gun there? IMO it's ugly and just another way to shred holsters. Front serrations was bad enough, but now they're on the top too....what's next, just cut them on 100% of the exposed surface area?

At least Sig didn't do it to the new P226/9s.

They're called competition shooters.

What about competition involves grabbing the gun by the top of the front portion of the slide? Maybe I've been doing this wrong...

watch how Ernest Landgon chambers a pistol round and it kinda makes sense but Sig is definitely doing it for looks not competitive advantage
