Owned a Sig P229 for ten years. Bought it new. I use TWPD25 grease on the rails. Now after maybe a thousand rounds of .40 and .357sig, there are several tinny, tiny gouge marks, on the aluminum frame rail edges. The steel slide is fine. Is this normal wear and tear? If so, what can i do to try and stop any further gouge marks, if possible. Any ideas? Thanks.

Continue to grease and shoot it. Q

Yes, although it usually occurs sooner than after thousands of rounds. As recommended, clean, grease, shoot, repeat. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. Together we have resisted the trap of appeasement, cynicism, and isolation that gives temptation to tyrants.” — George H. W. Bush

IMO, TWPD25 is fine, but you might want to up your grease game. "Products: Any gun grade grease will do the trick. I personally prefer to use Brian Enos Slide Glide(brianenos.com), Shooter's Choice grease (http://www.shooters-choice.com/ and you get a cool syringe to use later) or Lubriplate (brownells.com). The grease in the following pictures is a Lithium/Moly based grease that I'm experimenting with, details available soon." This from Flork's Lubrication guide. https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...30601935/m/908103701 I use Slide Glide personally.

I am taking your advice. Watched the two videos, on the Brian Enos website. I have ordered the Slide Glide "Lite" version. Should have it soon, to test it out. Thanks. Looks like a good gun grease.

Both the regular and lite are good. I use both at times depending on the pistol. The regular can, under certain conditions, slow the slide down unacceptably. Personally, I like the way it makes the slide action feel and it's worked very well for me for a long time. You should be fine with the lite version. Good luck.
