I recently purchased a P226 S at an auction. I asked Sig customer service for some info and they directed me to this site.
Serial #. U 7691XX Marked on both slide and Frame
Slide and Frame both have Eagle N proof.
Slide is marked Made in Germany P226 S
Barrel has Eagle N, Kiel and AH (07)
Brown envelope with the 2 spent cases is dated 2007
Manual says XFive Case says X Line.

My real question is what variant of P226 is this? P226 S, P226 XFive, P226 XLine? I also saw something about L1.

It’s a first gen X5. All 1st gen X5s have the “S” after the model name. Second gens do not. I’m working on memory on the following gen 1 models. The plastic cases for the gen 1 guns have that round “X-Line” sticker on them.

L1: all stainless, adjustable rear sight, adjustable trigger, wood grips, aluminum mag well funnel

Competition: all stainless, adjustable rear sight, non-adjustable trigger, plastic grips, aluminum mag well funnel

Lightweight: stainless slide, black aluminum alloy frame, adjustable rear sight, adjustable trigger, wood grips, aluminum mag well funnel

The above are SAO.

Allround: DA/SA, all stainless, adjustable rear sight, plastic grips, no mag well funnel
