Crossbreed Holster Question Login/Join

I just bought a Crossbreed Mini-Tuck for my 365 online.

I'm new to Kydex, so I don't know if this is "normal."

The pistol does not snap or lock into place, it rides loose in the holster. So loose, in fact, if you turn the holster over, the gun falls out.

Is this something I should address with the company, or is there something I can do myself? It looks like there are parts that could be tightened, perhaps using a hair dryer.

Check the retention while you're wearing the holster with the belt adjusted like you would actually carry it. Most hybrid holsters don't have much retention unless you're wearing them. They rely on the belt/waistband pressure. If you're wearing the holster, you'll probably be able to feel the gun click into place. I'd check that before trying to adjust the retention with a hair dryer (which is easy to do). With a full kydex holster, the gun should snap into place, but that's not the case for most hybrid holsters.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. The massive pressure of my belt holding back the tidal wave of my huge gut should do the trick! Big Grin

I came to post what bobandmikako posted. All of my Crossbreed holsters are loose until worn and tightened up by my gun belt. This is the same with other hybrid or partial kydex holsters that I own, like AlienGear. If you need your pistol retained when not wearing the holster, consider full Kydex holsters like Bravo Concealment or perhaps an ALS retention holster.

If you do end up needing to adjust the retention, the FAQ section on the Crossbreed website has instructions for doing it with a hair dryer:
https://www.crossbreedholsters.com/faq/ or they'll do it for you.

Hybrids are like this.
I carry a 229 in an Alien Gear holster and it's a bit loose when I'm not wearing it.

Snaps in while I'm wearing it and doesn't fall out.
I've worn it at work crawling around under trucks and such and it's always stayed put.
I haven't tried any funky dance moves yet to see if it fall out though.

Yeah, works great. We just went out for lunch, followed by a two mile walk. Very comfortable, very secure. I didn't try cartwheels, though. Big Grin

I just bought a new Crossbreed, my first one in a while. I thought they sent me the wrong mag carrier but both the mag carrier and the holster have a set screw retention device built in. I bought a Reckoning but you may want to see if your holster has that between the kydex and leather.
