what should I expect if I put one in my 226 Legion? Not a reduced trigger pull but but more control ability? Any thing like that. Sorry if this was discused before.

It increases leverage for some people and reduces the perception of a heavier trigger pull. My trigger measured out the same, but felt as if it pulled easier.

Straight triggers in my Classic line guns, the P320 and P365 all improved my trigger control and reduced the pull weight slightly.

Because of how my trigger finger curves to the bottom of the trigger face, it naturally contacts the forward edge of curved triggers and I must deliberately move it up to sit in the curve. That’s not a good thing at speed, but if I don’t do it, I’m trying to fire the gun with my finger down on the pointed forward tip of the trigger. The straight trigger allows my finger to contact it at the bottom which is its natural placement.

In addition, because my finger contacts the straight trigger at its bottom rather than near the middle as with a curved trigger, the mechanical lever advantage is increased and therefore the force required to pull the trigger is reduced.

“ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.”

You will hear responses all over the board. Just like anything else, it comes down to personal preference. For me, I have flat triggers on my “go to” guns. My first experience was with a 226 build a couple years ago. I used a Gray Guns SRT and ELS with a flat trigger. It felt so good, I put one in my 226 Legion and my 320 M17. Next up will be my next 226 build (currently at CCR getting a new finish). That said, my vintage 226s will retain their original factory curved triggers.

If you get the trigger from GG (Bruce Gray) it will have adjustment screws to reduce/eliminate pre and post travel… Just awesome!

Again, personal preference but of all my Sigs, the 226 fits me perfectly and with the GG ELS and flat dual adjustable trigger makes them feel like they were built specifically for me.

I don’t like the flat face triggers, as I have to think about where to place my finger on the trigger, and the angle doesn’t seem to grant any leverage, being further away.
