Just bought my third duty pistol, 5th out of the 6 I’ve been issued over my career. Long story short, we had nothing but issues with our P320’s that we issued from 2015-2016 and our now carrying Gen5 Glock 17s. So I was able to pick my issued 9mm full-size for a great price. I like the ergonomics of my current Glock better but I’ve never had a duty pistol that was more accurate than this P320. This barely used piece is going to be my new competition pistol. Still had to go back for the voluntary upgrade and I’m looking forward to seeing how the new trigger works out.

The first issue was multiple guns with unreliable extraction. This occurred soon after issue with Offices on SWAT who were shooting more than the average patrolman. After speaking with SIG, they admitted to an out of spec plunger issue that was known and replaced all extractors, plungers, and springs. Second issue were the magazines for full size and carry. Some were exploding when they were released when reloading during training and one on the street that fell out of the pouch during a fight. Sig admitted there was a change to the magazine design and replaced all of them. Third issue was when a pistol seized and had broken sear spring. When the “drop safe” issue hit the internet, there was a vote of no confidence in the pistol and the Chief made the decision to change platforms at our own expense.
