Thank you for sharing that info. As for the preventative parts replacement schedule, that reminds me, I should have all of those extra parts in my kit. Keeping with the 1 is none, 2 is 1, and 3 is better theme, I will order a set of replacement parts for it and a couple of other Sigs I have. Given that you are likely more up on your Sigs than I am, other than Numrich, who do you recommend getting parts from? I will buy directly from Sig and not grumble too much about their confiscatory prices, but options are good to have.

SIG is decreasingly offering support for the classic P series, although they still do sell variants of them (ie P226 & P229 Legions etc..)although basically the same gun design, they include modifications in the design (Long Extractors, spiral FPPP roll pins, etc..)

Absolutely consider checking w/ SIG to see if they have the part you need because maybe there is a small stash held in reserve on an armorer bench, but don't be surprised if you can't find the part(s) you need.

Over the years SIGforum members have relied heavily on Top Gun Supply, for their experience, their reputation for super quick delivery, as well as their excellent reputation for customer service...but again, as support for the classic P series fades, it's possible even they won't have the older parts you need...but don't let that stop you from checking with them. They are a forum member here.

Truth be told, I made a commitment to own and maintain some classic P series pistols years ago and, seeing the writing on the wall, I started searching out and stashing some parts. I don't have all the spares that I'd like to have, but probably enough to keep them in service for awhile...so, other than Numrichs, I haven't kept up with the few vendors still stocking old SIG parts.

Osage County Guns has reportedly come through for a few members here and is also a forum member.

Beyond that, depending on which specific parts you're looking for, there are a few smaller gun parts manufacturers that are starting to fill the gap by manufacturing some new classic P series parts.

Another option to consider, is checking with gunsmiths and armorers. Forum favorites Gray Guns Inc. and The SIG Armorer (both forum members) still work on the old classic P series, perform both action and custom work on them, and produce performance parts for them.

Thanks for the solid info. I had heard of and dealt with Top Gun Supply some time ago. It's an interesting thing. I will always love guns, but there have been a couple years a time where I just left things be, regularly checking and maintaining, but not active shooting or doing anything with my them. Some were health-related, if you don't have that, no amount of toys matters, and there were times when I was just too busy with life, etc. I'm sure we have all been there to some degree. It is nice to know that they are there, at least while we still have our rights.

Thanks again,
-Max
