Why are “1st world” pistol optic options so thin or am I missing something?

cslingerWhy are “1st world” pistol optic options so thin or am I missing something?
Seems like we have ….
Trijicon
EOTECH
Steiner
Aimpoint
Shield
Leupold
Am I missing any. Compared to like eleventy billion Chinese optics the pickings seem very thin. (I know most electro optics will use Chinese components. I know Holosun makes a good product I have 2, yes Virginia I am posting from a Chinese made IPhone). That said I would like to make my next optics purchase from a first world provider and I am looking at options.
Thanks much,
Chris

neexThey're just so expensive compared to the made in China stuff. I REALLY want an Aimpoint Micro, but the retail of the optic is like 69.23% of the price of the gun I want to put it on (which is also "first-world").

LunaseeGood glass can be expensive. For example, my flat top Daniel Defense M4V4 was $1600. The Trijicon ACOG I put on top of it was $1100.

Do you want to set any additional criteria besides where it is made? Do you want a large screen competition / plinking oriented optic, do you want something smaller to carry, do you want a closed or open emitter optic, do you prefer a specific mounting solution, do you know which gun it is getting mounted on?

cslingerRmsc mounting
Carry gun sized (hellcat pro)
Not too hung up with open or closed emitter
Want lowest footprint possible.
Do not need a giant panoramic window.
Price is……well an object

but not a primary concern. I am not putting a grand into this but 500-600 wouldn’t be completely out of the question.
Mostly I am just noodling to see what is out there that is not Chinese. (Again I know, I know world economy, Chinese phone, etc. etc. ) I just want this to not be a Chinese optic if I can avoid it.

YVKI think that with RSMc mounting you're pretty much limited to Shield products.
P.S. SIG's Romeo-X Compact uses it too and that's what I'd suggest. It is labeled as "Assembled in USA". I have one of those and have been reasonably impressed although my round count through it is very low.

I understand that SIG has a very modern production facility in Oregon where the X-Compact and X-Pro are put together. I presume that the use of Chinese electronics prevents the moniker “made in the USA” but it sure beats the “designed in the USA, made in China” some products state.

92fstechCertain parts of Oregon are more politically communist these days than China, and infringe more directly on the rights of Americans than China ever has. If we're going to select products based solely on the politics of the locale of manufacture, it seems a bit disingenuous to pick one over the other.

kyoungI have a Sig Pro1 on my FNX tactical and so far it has worked well, shooting 45acp. I got it on special for like $150 from Sig.
Sig 556
Sig M400
P226 Tacops
P229 Legion
P320 X compact

What is the price comparison of an optic made in China to a firearm made in Turkey or the Philippines?

DaBigBRThere may be a lot of random Chinese brands, but there are very few good ones.
I think the difference is that there is no way to make cheap junk that is actually cheap outside of China. The cost of manufacturing demands that the quality be there.
