huskerlrrpWhat Ever Happened to the PSA/LeadStar MP5 Clone?
I've anxiously been awaiting the PSA/LeadStar HK MP5/HK94/SP5/SP89, etc, etc. clone release. Last year at this time a prototype was on display at the SHOT show. Does anyone have any news on this? Did run into patent issues or just give up? I'm starting to think I should just buy one of their AR-V with Scorpion magazines and forget about it. Lord knows with the hot gun market now, I can't afford H&K prices.

VoshterkoffIMO they never had a chance to hit their target price. I’m filling it with the quick change caliber MP5 that was at shot a decade or so ago, not ganna happen.

ChowserVaporware like their Dagger (Glock clone)
This was their response last month.
The project has been a constant start and stop. We have a pretty solid development team and the last year a lot of those guys have been focused on helping set up new machines and helping with programming and tooling instead of development. 2020 has put a real crimp on our development plans as our focus has been almost exclusively on increasing production capacity.
I gave up on the PSA MP5 clone and ordered a Banshee to sate my PCC needs.
I do own an MPX but I hate it. We sold our last MP5 at work. I tried to make them keep it but I was outvoted.

Unprecedented demand for guns they already make means resources are going to go into making those guns first to pay the bills and keep their customer base placated. There's little doubt that the PSA5, Dagger and other projects will be popular, but probably not without at least some teething (think AK-V). Problems would be catastrophic from a business sense if you divert resources to a new project and then can't deliver it without issues.
Building lots and lots of ARs and AKs that have broader overall appeal AND are essentially already debugged makes sense.
...and look at the trouble they're having even keeping those things in stock some weeks.
