Shot it today side by side with my Gen 3 Glock 19. Both have similar sights with the Glock having a better trigger due to me installing a Ghost bar and spring set. The MR920 has a better changeable grip set up over the Glock. Comes with factory night sights and a mag well funnel which is a nice touch. Fired all of my hand loads perfectly as well. Offhand @ 7 yards (I'm far sighted) I shot the 19 a bit better I think due to the trigger being lighter. What I did notice the most was how much less the MR920 recoiled and had noticeably less flip.It was hot today so I only fired about 50 rounds total. This gun is gonna be a regular shooter though.

Keep in mind I am a FFL, but my cost was $630. Saw NIB one online with the RMR cut sold for $685 which is under cost.

Nice pick up. I'm a big Shadow Systems fan, currently have two of the MR918s (had a third but sold it, and then picked up a 920 with the optic cut but decided that I didn't want to go with a RDS at this time, so sold it off unfired).

I have owned thirty Glock 19s over the years, but for ME, the MR918 really is a better choice. Don't have any 19s anymore and don't see myself getting another one in the future. Then again...

I was at one of my LGS a few weeks ago and they had some LEO priced MR920s and DR920s, I might go back and get a 920; but I'm not really shooting that much anymore so who knows.

Again, nice pick up.

What aspect of the pistol do you attribute those characteristics to?

I can only surmise the longer beaver tail and a different grip angle. The only other real difference is the steel guide rod which could help a little. Also the front strap is undercut at the trigger guard quite a bit more than the Glock.

MR920 Elite with the flattest backstrap is the best "Glock" I've ever shot. Fits better than anything Glock makes, and I like all the undercuts and frame reliefs. Wouldn't mind an MR920L to go along with it.

But a 320 with a Wilson grip module is still a lot better fitting for me.

I have a DR920 that I really like, I would like to get some trigger work done as is a tad heavy for my liking but overall great shooting gun.

I impulse bought a used, LNIB MR920 combat in FDE off GB about a month ago. My bid was under 700 but with the shipping and taxes/fees came out to about 760. After I got it, I determined it had never been fired and I took care of that with a few boxes through it on the 4th weekend. I shot it very well and like the sight configuration it came with (front night, rear black notch).

Overall very happy with my buy, and it's great that it uses existing G19 holsters. I would consider the DR920 but don't need the optics cut. Only change that would be cool for them to incorporate would be a reversible mag release for lefties like me.

Given the features they have, it's a worthy buy versus a stock Glock, especially if you are patient and can get it for a great price.

I applied some Brownells Action Magic on the sear area and that dropped about a pound off the the pull weight. I also read that it gets better after a few hundred rounds.

Mag release is reversible like any Gen4/Gen5 Glock. You just need a tool to pull the straight spring out of the pocket on the mag release.
