S&W Model 19 range day
I had a friend add target hammer and trigger to this 19-5 recently. I added some front sight paint and some Herrett grips. Galco leather. While the sight paint works really well, the Herretts might not be for me. Wasn't as comfortable as I had hoped, especially in double action shooting.

That's a beauty. I've always thought that a 4" model 19 defined what a revolver should look like.

Revolver grips are tough, especially with a pretty gun like that. You want some nice wood to compliment the visual aesthetic, but you also want something that fits your hand and allows you to enjoy shooting the gun. And everybody's handis different, so it can be a never-ending process. Ultimately you end up with a tub of trial-and-error revolver grips to keep your tub of trial-and-error holsters company...

92fstech, that is a true statement. I have a storage tub of holsters and grips already. Big Grin

Congratulations on that excellent example of the breed!

Nice looking revolver, the grips are good looking even if you don't like the way they work.

Great looking revolver. One of my favorites along with the Highway Patrolman.

I sold the last of my 19's earlier this year. I think the snub model just looks powerful!

Very beautiful model 19. The Pachmeyer rubber grips are really nice on the 19 for shooting.

The Herretts didn't do it for me, so I purchased a set of the Altamont Ropers. They are smaller than the factory target grips. Well made and fit great. I had to try them out! They look good and feel good. I think I found the "Goldilocks" set!

Here is kind of an unusual Model 19, it's a Model 19-P. It is a fixed-sight 19...

This special run of fixed-sight model 19’s (Product code: 100727) was made for the Peruvian government. After shipping approximately 1500 units, Peru cancelled the remainder of the contract. Since the production run was completed, S&W shipped approximately 1240 guns to its German distributor Wischo and disposed of the remainder through domestic distribution channels. Total production was approximately 3825.

Anecdotally, when the Peruvian procurer was asked why they didn’t just order Model 13’s (.357 Mag, fixed-sight,K-frames with exposed ejector rods), he replied that his men sometimes liked to use their guns as clubs and he didn’t want any bent ejector rods.

Adios,

Well who doesn’t use their revolver as an occasional club?
