Is the XL that much of a difference?
I've got the P365, just wondering if the XL is that much of a difference to justify the price of buying a second gun. Looking for those that have shot both to chime in.

I have both guns. I don't regret buying the XL, but I can't say I'd recommend it if money is a concern.

The XL does feel better in my hand than the P365 (even with a 12rd mag in the P365).

Accuracy is the same for me between the two.
I've added the flat triggers to my P365's so that doesn't play a part in how it shoots for me.

The XL might be worth it if you ever plan on adding an optic.

The XL is my current carry gun 95% of the time. I carry it IWB in the 3-4 O'Clock position. The other 5% of the time I carry the P365 in a pocket holster.

If I could only own 1 it would be a standard P365 because of the pocket carry option.

Hope that helps.

That helps. Money is always a concern Smile

I'm looking at it for RDS already being milled in, and I like the balance a little better of a long slide/short grip. If I do this, I'll put the short grip set on there. I tried an xl in the store and found the grip is too short for my hand. So I might as well have a pinky hanging off like every other carry gun I've owned.

I'd like the flexibility for the standard 365 as well.

I'll keep my eyes open for a good deal.

Thanks

I’ve shot both, own the XL. Conceals just as easily in 95% of situations, pocket carry—which for me is quite rare—being the one exception.

Both are very accurate, but I find the XL much easier to handle, shoot, and control. XL Recoil is like that of a regular compact 9mm, as opposed to the P365 which is very snappy. The XL is much easier for me to grip, hold, and manipulate (I wear a size L golf glove if that helps—P228 is a perfect grip size for me).

That's inline with what I'd expect. I decided to order a long slide and barrel and spring. Figure I can try it out and see. I like the short grip as the XL grip is still too small for me. (I wear an XL motorcycle glove. Wide hands and short fingers killed my guitar career before I even bought my guitar. Smile

Thank you two for the feedback!

As a follow up I will agree with person500 that the recoil is more manageable. Not nearly as snappy as the standard P365.

So I have been messing around with a custom Rami,Glock 43x and the sig 365..Played with a Hellcat and the trigger guard kinda cut into my trigger finger. Picked up a 365xl and for some reason it just fits in my hand perfectly...I think I'm going that route, feels good, pretty sure they got the bugs out by now..

I trust the P365 family as a whole now.

Embarrassing story. A good friend purchased an XL after shooting my 365 and renting a 365 and shooting the hell out of it. He decided to get the XL. We went to the range that day so he could shoot it. I had my 365 and my homemade 320 RX with a Romeo 1 and flat trigger. My friend shot his XL (best shooting I've seen him do) and wanted to shoot my 320. I usually shoot better than he does. So we switched. I couldn't hit the center of the target with the XL at all. Tightish low groups. I went back to the 365 and shot a whole lot better. I was thinking about getting an XL because it is the easiest way to get an optics ready 365. I am now rethinking it and will probably have the 365 milled for the Romeo Zero. I thought I would be able to shoot the XL well, but not so much. In my case there was a big difference, the opposite of what I thought would happen.
