CPO 226
Have a chance to buy a 226 CPO that is triple serialed with made in Germany on the slide. Gun is 100% condition made in 1995 according to the serial number. Need advice on wheather this is a frankensig or not. Gun is 9 MM. No pictures yet as I have not made the deal. Thanks in advance.

Depending on the price, just buy it.
I bought a CPO P239 years ago and it looked brand new.

Is there a recommended place to get CPO SIGs? Maybe a preferred online dealer?

If it's triple serialed (presumably all matching) as you said, then it is not a FrankenSIG. At least not the 3 major parts (frame, slide, and barrel).

Check with our member Ceptor781. He just sent me a perfect CPO P229 at a great price.
Thanks Ceptor781!

CPO guns are an excellent deal. They are much cheaper than new but Sig goes through them in every way. If it is not too much money, I would do it with confidence. I have had a couple cpo guns and you could not tell them form new.

Buy it if you want a shooter. My LGS had some a few years ago and they looked really nice but upon a closer look the one they had was refinished, including the frame, and I read reports others saw the same. One problem with refinishing is it makes it impossible to check for true frame rail condition, etc.

I bought a CPO 226. It showed a couple of scuff marks on the slide and the grips are a bit worn. Shot fine.
Now it is a GGI CPO and it really shoots fine. Too bad Bruce wouldn't put a thumb safety on it.
