Members, here is an Sig P220 I obtained from a PD trade, which came with no box. What do I have? I fired it and it is flawless in performance and I am going to enjoy shooting this one. I really like the 2-dot sights. I removed the cosmoline and it really looks nice. Robert https://share.icloud.com/photo...RS6yp8DoJM57Zq2lY-nAThis message has been edited. The slide is folded carbon steel w/ von Stavenhagen bar-dot sights, which I believe dates the slide at least to well before 2010. I suspect the gun was a Sig factory refurbished red box gun, or perhaps a police armorer mixed & matched parts to make the gun.

Absolutely gorgeous. Internal extractor and short reach trigger together, probably not the factory configuration though. Did they even offer those triggers in the days of the folded slide?

It would appear that the Frame/Receiver and Barrel were replaced, while retaining all of the other components. With the possible exclusion of the Take Down Lever and the Short Reach Trigger, all of the visible receiver components (Hammer, Slide Catch, Decocking Lever, Mag Release, Locking Insert, Grips & Grip Screws) appear to be (original?) from a Folded Slide P220. ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! iron chef got the idea, and that's about as close as we can get. That serial number is pretty late for the folded slide. The only way to know for sure is calling SIG CS with your serial number and let them tell you what the gun's configuration was. Q

One thing I really like is the 2 dot sights because I think my first Sig P220 decades ago had two dots. Maybe it is easier on one's eyes as you get older too. I think I paid $600 new from my Sig dealer in the early 1980s. I paid $535 for this one and am thankful I can find them occasionally. If ammo was not so high today, it would be like in the "good old days".
