I have both the P365 and P365XL. With the P365 I use the 12-round mag so the grip between the two is very similar. I shoot them regularly and, while they fit my hand, the high-cut area of the trigger guard rubs my middle finger to the point of discomfort after a few mags. Is there an aftermarket grip frame that might work better for me?

I put Wilson Combat frames on both my 365 and 365X and like them much more than the factory grip.

Issue is whether the Sig OEM works for you overall with the exception of the rear trigger guard (ouch) issue you mention.

I have a standard P365. Replaced the grip frame with with a Wilson Combat XL grip frame and 12 round mags. Two options:

1) Keep the Sig grip frames if the only issue is the sore finger. Use sandpaper or emery cloth and round off the trigger guard where it makes contact with your finger. It's an easy job.

2) Personally, I prefer the overall shape and contours of the Wilson to the Sig grip frame. If you replace yours with a Wilson, you may or may not have the SAME problem as with your Sigs. Every finger/fit is different.

In line with the above, I have had to contour the trigger guard area on my three Glocks. Same problem as you're having. Don't know until you actually shoot the gun.

Have never understood why the manufacturers don't properly radius that area in the first place.

Thanks for the input. The Sig grip modules are so high cut in that area there is little to no room to radius them without getting into the mag release button. Photos of the Wilson version look similar.

Fortunately, I don't have to shoot a lot of rounds through them to maintain proficiency.

Sure. Let me define "radius" though. It's just a matter of slightly rounding off the right angle corner of the trigger guard where the index finger contacts it. Don't need a Dremel or any heavy sanding. I prefer a cloth-backed emery abrasive, rather than paper. Used Wilson Ultima-Lube II to finish the area after. Trial and error.

Checked some other polymer frames I have. My experience has been a given pistol will or won't bite my index finger. Forget analyzing the height of the cut. Binary - it does or doesn't bite. If it bites, radius it. The lack of bite (below) is due to the Wilson factory radius on the trigger guard, not the high cut or anything else I can discern. Here are some examples.

1) P365 std versus Wilson XL grip. Never shot it with the Sig OEM grip. Bought it to use with the Wilson XL and 12-rd mags, didn't want an optic cut on the slide. The Wilson XL is already radiused and it doesn't bite.

2) P320C & FS. I had to radius both OEM grips due to the bite. Eventually replaced the grips with Wilson Carry. Again, the Wilson is already radiused and it doesn't bite.

3) Glocks. Two Gen4 G19's and a Gen4 G34. Had to radius all of them. Originally, was looking at having a high cut done professionally, thinking that was the cause of the problem. Was pleasantly surprised when the radius solved the problem.

To emphasize, this is what worked for me. Other's mileage may vary.

the Wilson combat module feels so much better to me. See if you can find someone with one and try it in your hands. They are not expensive and in my opinion are a lot more comfortable.

Another vote for the Wilson Combat grip modules. I have them on my P365 and my P320s.

The WC, either one, is way more comfortable and shootable. However, the small one prints a bit worse in pocket carry than the stock grip, being a tad wider and having a mag well flair.

Same guns for me also with Wilson Combat grip modules. I added the tungsten weights as well.

The Wilson Combat frames are worth every penny. I have one on a P320 Compact and a family member just added one to their P365XL.
