There is no question in my mind that the slide lock lever was the cause of my earlier issue of the slide not going into full battery at times. From when I purchased the pistol I could not release the slide by using the lever w/o an absurd amount of effort using two thumbs. I reverted to only sling-shotting it. All other rounds fed perfectly, and the slide returned to battery every time. I’ll purchase and run another 150 rounds of the Federal HST 147 +P. If faultless again, I’ll switch from my P239 SAS Gen 2 to the Sub for carry with this round.
I will GUESS that the Sphinx’s tighter tolerances than my SIGs makes it more ammunition sensitive, and again, I was told Kriss did not recommend Win. ammunition.
I am still amazed at how fast the Sphinx gets back onto target, I shot at least 75 quite fast rounds using flash sighting, and all were very satisfactory hits.

Glad things worked out to your satisfaction. I do know there are much tighter tolerances in these guns, to include the barrel, so as always, doing a range test for your carry ammo is critical. Enjoy your subcompact...carrying mine as I type this.

That's good info to know, and glad you're testing it out for what it likes. I don't run heavier stuff, and mostly stick with 124gn and 127gn self defense ammo. Particularly Winchester Ranger 127gn +P+ and Underwood Gold Dot HP 124gn +P+. It's fed all else I've thrown at it concerning practice ammo, but then again, I don't use but just a couple of different practice rounds. The increased number of views are by Compact and Subcompact owners hoping to find word of the Standard model.
In case anyone is interested, I got a recoil spring, guide rod, and hammer spring from Cajun Gun Works. This is for the Compact model.
The recoil spring and guide rod dramatically reduced tension on the slide and made the slide very easy to manipulate.
The hammer spring reduced the trigger pull, but not enough to make a difference to me.
All three items had zero failures in 200 rounds. My only complaint about them is not a true complaint. It is a preference: I like the snappier recoil, so I went back to the stock configuration.
I also got a StealthGear Onyx IWB holster that fits the Compact very well. Interestingly the description on the packing slip said the holster was for the CZ-P-07.
A while back, I ordered a Milt Sparks VMII for the Compact. I expect it to arrive pretty soon.
I'd like to get a small-of-back holster, but my favorite SOB vendor Galco has nothing for the Sphinx. I'm going to order one for the CZ P-07 and see if it fits.

There is no holster like a leather holster.
My favorite carry rig is leather belt, leather holster, and leather mag carriers. That gear creaks when I walk but that's okay.

I know you can;t please all the people all the time....but, If they would produce a Standard without the rail in stainless like I saw around here somewhere....I would order it tonight!! Just got my SUB today.

I think issues returning to battery might be a trend. I am sending a sub-compact back to Sphinx for the same issue.
I did a drop test with the Compact vs the Sub-compact. The Sub-compact barrel is much tighter and the Compact is tight by most standards. It seems to like 115gr bullets. That is what I ran through it initially without issue.
Today it would not feed various 124gr rounds. Freedom Munitions, 124gr Geco. Some locked up the gun others simply did not return to battery. I did not fire but dropped in some Winchester 147 gr and they do not spin. Gold Dot 124s did.
It might be a case of too tight a tolerance. Who knows. I have an RMA which I got same day and will hopefully get a call tag tomorrow.
I love my Compact and had high hopes for the Sub but at this point I am dissapointed to say the least. It has not hung up on any of those but I am one who believes that a defensive gun should feed everything or at least a wide variety.
I will update the progress.
