I wanted to know which brace you MPX pistol owners liked the best? I don't mind the factory brace but it is a little to thick for me when folded. I like the telescopic braces but wondered if their were any folders that were slim when folded. Any opinions appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't think I was going to like it. But I really like the SB Tactical Telescoping brace. Train how you intend to Fight Remember - Training is not sparring. Sparring is not fighting. Fighting is not combat.

I started with the standard folding brace; I like it, but on a whim I decided to try SB's telescoping brace. Really glad I did, and with hindsight wish I had made the switch sooner.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably go with the SB brace or the factory Sig telescoping brace. Anyone know whether there is any real difference other than the price?

I want the SB Telescoping brace but the price tag is holding me back. I use the standard side folding that came with my MPX. I'll keep my eye out for a sale on the telescoping brace. DPR

If you're meaning to compare the two telescoping designs, they're close to being the same but there's some slight differences. From what I can tell, the rubber 'brace' portion is pretty much the same part between the two, only branded differently. The chief difference with the entire assemblies is with the 1913 attachment block. Aesthetics; how important this is up to you. The attachment block--SIG calls it a '1913 interface' or some such technosoundingbabble--is shaped a little differently between the two T-braces. I like how the SIG version is machined and contoured to 'fit' around the shape of the telescoping rods; that look seems a bit more polished to me in its execution and makes the attachment block feel a little less bulky-looking than the one found on the SB T-brace. It shows more thought that goes beyond mere functionality. Conversely, the attachment block on the SB T-brace plain and simple looks weird to me, especially when compared against shapes found on the rest of the gun. The MPX has few sloped faces, and those that do exist up front at the handguard are full of cutouts and KeyMod keyholes. The SB attachment block however is full of slopes, all solid and obvious like some kind of visual sledgehammer. I like when conjoined pieces and parts feel and look harmonious with one another; call it a personal character flaw but to me the SB brace visually appears a bit out of its element when mounted to my MPX, like taking parts from two different sources and slapping them together. YMMV, of course. However, the SIG T-brace is not "beautified" enough to the point where I wanted to pay the extra $95 at the time I picked up my SB version ($180 vs $275). Functionally the SB T-brace works absolutely fine. Its telecoping action has loosened up over time and slides freely to open and close relying on gravity alone; no 'third hand' kind of awkward motions needed when trying to quickly deploy the brace. With other differences between the two, I believe how each secures onto the MPX receiver's vertical Pic rail is done a bit differently from one another. The SIG version also provides a clip-on point/webbing loop for a sling, if that's important to you. For those few times when I've used a sling, I prefer the ease of attaching to the flush cup with a QD swivel at the back of the MPX's lower receiver, so that additional utility of the SIG branded T-brace is lost on me.

SIG just had a sale on their version for $200. Last I checked SB was at $250 and out of stock? "Freedom is a light for which many men have died in darkness."
