I own a pre-upgrade Sig320 45ACP Compact which I really like. I was cruising the net looking at Sig320 parts and keep running onto parts that don’t look like the parts on my 320 or that my 320 doesn’t seem to have. As an example I ran across a takedown lever O-ring and I don’t see one on my gun, and a striker spring cup that doesn’t look like the one on my gun. I understand I can’t convert my 45 to a 9 or 40 upper and that it won’t fit in holsters designed for the 9 and 40, but is the 45 ACP really that different. Anyone know where I can find a list of cross compatible parts between the 45 and 9/40. Also I have not sent my gun in for the upgrade as I am not sure I want to. A little googling revealed that some folks are getting back guns that have a worse trigger or have ejection pattern change that put the empty brass in their forehead. Additionally I hear I would lose the second click (reset) that I use for dry firing. I know it is not exactly the same as the trigger break, but it is close enough for my purposes. Comments please!

There is an O ring on your takedown lever. My opinion is that unless you spent a bunch of money on trigger work you would be nuts, read stupid, not to upgrade. The mf’er will drop fire without the upgrade. The complaints about returned guns are mostly nonsensense. If they are legit then Sig will fix it. They aren’t. Yes, you will lose the double click but so what? Without the striker being reset it isn’t an actual representation of the normal trigger pull anyway so it’s not exactly great dry fire practice anyway. Send in your registration, shoot it until they send a label, send it in. My two cents.

The o-ring is a standard #10 size. Some parts have been changed as part of the upgrade, so getting that down would be a wise decision. You can put a smaller caliber upper on a 45 FCU, but without the sanction of SIG. It will work, but the function of the magazine safety will be eliminated. ---------------The Answer Is There Is No Answer---------------

Odd, mine does not appear to have a magazine safety

It does, it's the horizontal tab in the top front left of the magazine well. You can't take the weapon down with a magazine in place. Of course you would also need the grip module for the smaller calibers as the mag well would need to be smaller to accommodate the mags. Since a 9/357/40 mag is shorter than a 45 mag, you can take the weapon down with a mag in place as the tab will not hit the mag and block takedown. ---------------The Answer Is There Is No Answer---------------
