Serial Number Login/Join

I recently bought a sig Sauer p365 macro X comp serial number 66G3317**
And I’m new to sigs and just had a question about the serial number because it looks a bit different than other guns. So I’ve seen a post on here this is the link https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/7320040262 that gives a list that says this
Date Proof Letters?
A - 0
B - 1
C - 2
D - 3
E - 4
F - 5
G - 6
H - 7
J - 8
K - 9

What are date proof letters?? This was a post about serial numbers a while back. The value in this list for the G is 6 does that mean that the G represents a the number 6 or a month or does the G just represents a letter or maybe a state in my P365 macro serial number 66G3317**. Maybe I’m just confused I just want to know what the G in my serial number represents sorry if this is a silly question just new to this

This pertains more to older Sig pistols.

It pertains to SIGs that were made, assembled and proof tested in Germany, old or new. If it wasn't proofed there, it will not have the two-letter date code.

OP, the "G" in your gun's serial number has nothing to do with this. It's just part of SIG NH's latest serial numbering system. And, your P365, being made here in the US, and more than likely has not made its way to Germany, does not have the 2-letter date (proof) code.

Welcome to the forum!

I think the most recent design to come from Germany before they were closed was the P250.

Mine is stamped BA, making it a 2010 model.

Complete with triple serial, proofs, box, and test target.

Right. It might have been the most recent design, but there have been tons of other SIGs made and proofed in Germany that made their way across the pond up until closing. Plus those FrankenXSIGs made post-closing by various German dealers that flooded GB in the past 3-4 years that certain seller tried to pass off as factory made.. Roll Eyes

I just thought of something. Does your P250's serial # begin with "US"?

My link explained that.

Do they still make new Sigs in Germany?
If not, older Sig pistols.

^^^^ We obviously interpret "older" SIGs differently. Afaic, older SIGs refer to the folded slide era guns. I wouldn't call a German SIG made in, say 2020, "older" SIG. We all know about SIG DE shutting its doors at the end of 2020. And, as mentioned above, German dealers still made new SIGs (from remaining purchased factory parts), after the factory closed.

And, about "truly made in Germany", I'm going to throw this monkey wrench out there. This Xgun was "MADE IN GERMANY" and was proofed there. Obviously it was assembled there in order to be proofed. So, it was truly made in Germany, right? Well, not quite. The frame was actually US made and was shipped to SIG DE for them to make complete gun. SIG DE did make a few based on US made frames, before going out of business. The rest were made by dealers, and this is one of them. Proofed in 2022 (CC date code). Casual observers would automatically think this was truly made in Germany.
