46and2Considering a P365XL & SAS slide for my P365

I’ve had a P365 for about two years and enjoyed it. I probably carry it 75% of the time I carry a pistol. Every time I hold a P365XL I want to get one but haven’t seriously considered it until now. I did consider getting the parts to convert my P365 to an XL but for just a little more I can get a decent used one locally. I know the early P365s had some issues and read about some XLs having failures to go fully into battery. Is there a date or serial number range to avoid with the XLs?
I’ve also been curious about the SAS version of the P365. For that I’d just get a slide from SIG. I don’t want a ported barrel and don’t care about the anti-snag controls. The sight is what interests me. Do folks who’ve shot with both prefer the standard P365 or SAS?
My current P365:
What Spyderco is that?

sigarms229I haven't heard of any issues with the XL's. I have 3 XLs and all have functioned flawlessly.
The first was one of the first batch guns as soon as they came out, over 3000 rounds through it, zero issues.
The 2nd I picked up about 6 months later, 1500 rounds through it, zero issues.
The 3rd I picked up last summer, over 1500 rounds through it, zero issues.
Why do I have 3? This is by far my favorite carry gun, ever.
One is used to carry, the 2nd for training, and the 3rd is kept at another location should anything like a fire happen at my primary residence. I rotate them regularly.
Another reason to have a backup for your carry gun is that if I use it in a defense situation, it will be confiscated by the police. I then have another gun (in this case 2) to carry in it's place.

rmfnlaI swapped out my P365 Micro slide for an XL and shot it today for the first time and I LOVE IT!
Better balance and better recoil recovery, at least for me.
