Frommer Stop German Contract

My C&R is proving expensive

. FEG made 37K for Germany 1916-17, supposedly very few survived.
Last one that sold on GB went for $1800, I snagged mine for $660. Frommer #8 for me. They have really gone up in value recently.
Hungarian commercial proof & crown over B/D Imperial German proofs.

92fstechThat's pretty cool! Sounds like you scored on the price, too. Any reason for the recent increase in value? Is that a grip safety that I see protruding out the backstrap, or is that just the way the grip is designed?

More people collecting maybe? It has a grip safety.

92fstechJust watched a couple of videos on the design....that's pretty neat. You don't see a long-action handgun every day. I kinda geek out on some of this stuff, so it's probably a good thing I don't have a C&R...I don't have the money to spend or a place to put the stuff.

clangInteresting gun, it looks a lot like the 1913 Sauer, even though they are different actions:

AnubismpYeah they shot up because I started shopping for one. All joking aside I believe these and many others rose in price with the WW1 anniversary and renewed interest in the conflict.

johns961Very interesting. I inherited a Frommer Stop Pistol about 40 years ago. It appears to be in better condition then the one pictured above. Had it checked out by a gunsmith when I got it. He looked it over and test fired it. Said the condition was better then most he had seen. I always thought it was a funny little gun. I have a box of 32acp for it. But, I have never fired it.
I take it out and wipe it down once a year. Place it back in its Bore Stor bag and bury it in the back of the safe. Nice to see some interest in the old relic from the past.

exfed2001It will shoot 32 ACP, but the load is a bit lighter than the proper Frommer load so you may have some malfunctions and have to work it by hand.

johns961Yes. I stand corrected. The box of ammo I have for it is a vintage box of Geco 7.65 ammunition.
Been a long time since I thought of this pistol.
