mindustrialWhat is the fascination with slide cuts/holes/etc. ?
It’s tacticool; all those cuts help cool your barrel in tactical situations.

m.p.driverIt's the current fad, along with everyone making their clone of a Glock, for every platform there is a group willing to drive up prices.I follow several AR groups, yesterdays flavor was tacicool hang everything you can on it,todays flavor is old school "Retro" fixed carrying sight, which drives the price up on parts.

It's easy for manufacturers to do in this age of CNC machining. The Instagram generation, ignorant as they are, choose appearances over performance. Many of these younger buyers purchase a handgun, take it to the range and put half a box of ammo through it at eighty cents a round, and that's it. Gotta keep the other half of the box in case they, you know, ever need to "use it".
There's nothing like having huge gaps in the slide of your pistol. It's not as if these holes allow debris into the pistol- including particles of whatever which are big enough and stout enough to create malfunctions. It's all academic for most people, though. We're no longer a nation of shooters; we're a nation of firearms fashion models.
Accurate. Very accurate.
This nation has become a populace of 'look at me' on instagram. Few focus on being proficient with their guns. It's all about appearance.
Similar is the preponderance of idiot gun channels on youtube making a living doing stupid shit with guns.

patwFor the most part the special cuts and holes don't do much other than look kind of cool. I like some of the options out there. While he is a bit creepy, TTI makes some nice stuff and offers a change from the same old, same old.

Abn556The only slide I have with holes is a G20C that came that way from Glock. I didn’t care for the compensated barrel as it ported flash into your sight picture. I ended up changing out the ported barrel for a standard G20 barrel.

one of the many reasons I left FB was most of the weapons posts were, " do these grips make my gun look fat ? " " what color grips go best with my...." you get the gist
