I'm trying to locate an oversized magazine release, but I'm having ZERO luck.

Ed Brown used to make an oversized button for the S&W guns, but long out of production.

Look for a S&W Model 745 Magazine Release Nut. S&W may even have them in stock. Google a picture of a S&W 745 to see what it looks like.

Not sure if Numrich has any of those. I found some hard to find parts there but had to look into what models have parts that fit other models.
