My First 200 Rounds with the MagGuts +2 kit for the Sig P365 X/XL flush mag.

The idea is simple: get +2 rounds without a big extension hanging out the bottom. This kit adds hardly any length compared to the OEM flush fit mag.

There aren’t many reviews out there, so I tested one myself. What I found:

Install was straightforward, this kit simply replaces the factory spring/follower and base pad.

Shooting test: ~200 rounds through an OEM Italian Sig (Mec-Gar) magazine with the kit installed.

Reliability: I had one failure to feed with 124 gr magtech ammo during that 200-round test. Not catastrophic, but enough to give me pause. For me, that means it’s not carry-ready yet. I like to see ~1,000 flawless rounds before trusting a mag in carry rotation.

Otherwise, function and concealment were great. It does exactly what it promises: +2 capacity without extra length.

My takeaway: The MagGuts +2 is an interesting option if you want max capacity in a flush-fit P365 mag. But reliability testing is key, I’ll keep running this kit to see if performance improves. For now, I’d only consider it a range/backup mag, not EDC.

Notes: My test was with an Italian OEM Sig (Mec-Gar) mag, curious to hear if OEM USA Sig mags perform better. Could have been dirty gun since I shot a lot that day, but I won’t ignore the failure.

Just for the heck of it, I swapped this kit over to one of my USA Sig mags and it looks like it fits better overall. So, maybe this was designed specifically for the USA variant of the P365 mags.

As always: test your gear thoroughly before carrying, and check your local laws on mag capacity (magguts refuses to ship to certain states). TLDR: MagGuts +2 gave me 2 extra rounds in a P365 X/XL flush mag, worked 199/200 times, but one failure in early testing means it’s not yet trusted for carry.

That goes for anything you’re going to depend your life on. I tested my +2 magguts a few years ago to my satisfaction before putting it into cc use.
