I picked-up 2 used 220 .45 acp Pachmayr marked 7 round mags w/heel bumper for $10 each. Based on my research, some say the 7 rounders were made by Mec-Gar (Italy marked) and the 8 rounders (Made in USA marked) where unknown who made them.

Mine are 7 rounders and marked "Made in USA".

Anyone use these mags? Are they reliable?
Thanks

You have the magazines and you are asking me if they are reliable?

SHOOT THE GUN!

A friend and I bought some off brand P220 magazines. His work, mine don't.

I purchased several from CDNN years ago.

They were a close out item and I paid $10.00 (probably 25 years ago).

Mine worked flawlessly through several classes and thousands of rounds.

I liked the heel pads on these over factory mags.

Thanks for the info.

I'll go test these mags on Tuesday. I was waiting to get my reduced MS installed before taking this gun out to shoot and verify reliability.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

Why wouldn't you try it out before changing anything?
Maybe it works just fine as is.

Not sure what you're referencing? I asked if anyone had any personal experience with these mags. I wasn't changing anything about the mags. Although fresh springs might be a good idea.

I did try them both last week. I had one round fail to load. Not sure if it was the mag or the ammo, as I was using aluminum cased ammo. Otherwise, they seemed to work fine & will probably just be range mags.

I was interested if anyone knew who made the "USA" marked ones, as I don't think Pachmayr ever made their own mags?

For my carry load out, I'm pretty content with the Factory 7 rounder in the gun backed up by two factory 8 rounders.
