P229 Elite, non-rail, classic carry, 9mm (E29-9-CC-LGCY), TALO exclusive. Interesting gun with the following observations thus far. Legacy Elite slide with half serrations front and rear. Short extractor Sig Lites Exeter marked frame No beavertail frame No rail frame Skeletonized hammer Short Reset Trigger Short Reach Trigger Sig Loge'd black and grey G-10 grips Sig Logo top of slide ahead of rear sight Sig Sauer marked, phosphate MecGar 13 round magazines. Been looking for an original no rail 229 in 9mm, but only found one the last few months that got sold really quick. Had one a few years back, but regrettably traded it. This gun is very similar to my early 229 Elite 9mm, but without the rail or extended beavertail. Not really into the Short Reach Trigger, and will likely replace with a standard fat version. Short Reset Trigger is one of the best I've seen. Jury is still out on the G-10 grips, and I already have a polymer 229 set on the way. Have not shot it yet but will post more when I get it to the range. TR

Congrats on the find. Got any pics? I love the P229. I went through several of them before I accepted that I can't shoot them worth a damn compared to a full size Sig, but they're a fine handgun. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

3° that never cooled |
The 229s have been a favorite of mine since they were introduced. I've owned several, i.e., standard and sport models, 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 SIG, etc. I bought 229CC a few years ago; mine's 2017 production, because I thought it might be the last chance to buy a new 229, with what folks now call the "Legacy" type slide, and 228 type frame. I've not shot mine a lot, but it has never malfunctioned in any way, shape or form. Good little guns I think. Enjoy yours. NRA Life

I never got one because of this marking on the top of the slide. I like everything else about this model, and almost picked one up from CDNN before the covid, but then I saw the photo of the top of the slide.

I can take some Pics if someone wants to help with hosting which kicks my ass on this particular site.....I'm sure it's just me. I don't like the Sig logo on the slide much either, and if it gets to irritating, I'll just send it to CCR for a re-finish I suppose. Just sold a legacy Elite 226 and 229 in 40, and bought back a legacy 229 non-rail. In the end I obviously like the non-railed P-series Sigs the best. Have a 226 and 229 9mm Elite as my last railed Sigs...... TR

Nice P229 ! I like the SIG in a Circle on the slide. I have a set of those grips on my 2nd Gen P229 SAS Two Tone. Good luck with your new purchase, shoot it well and often !

Ah the SIG tramp stamp slide. Yeah I've one of these P229s that I bought a few years ago; it's been a great shooting pistol. And I did change out the trigger shoe to the old solid trigger. -MG
