I don't know. I really love the sights. I like this gun a lot more then the CZ P10C I also bought this week. _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

I bought mine lightly used and it came with the Vortex Venom , Talon grips, and an extra 20 round mag. Amazing how light it is . I am impressed. JEREMIAH 33:3

How is the recoil? Considering this might be a range 9mm that the girlfriend might enjoy.... And it gives me an excuse to get one.

I mostly shoot 9mm now days and I don't notice the recoil with this gun using 115GR rounds. I tried some 124s and did feel more recoil, but I think with some recoil spring tuning it wouldn't be noticeable. Everybody seems to tolerate recoil differently so best to find one she can try. I have my Canik TP9v2 in my get home bag. It's my "truck" gun, and it fits the role nicely. Its a quality gun. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

I've been reading up on these and seeing a lot of fans on a FB group. Have not heard of any striker/firing pin problems addressed there though many are owned within that group. Got to handle a TP9SF in the store yesterday and it felt great in the hand and only increased my desire for one.

A gun like this, given it's price, is something that you should't have to overthink. Buy one, and just shoot the shit out of it. Either it works or it doesn't. If it does, you got a bargain you get to keep and use. If not, sell it off, and you get back most of your small up front investment. Based on what I've been hearing, the first option is the most likely. If there's any problem, its as they get more well known and popular, they're getting less cheap. And let's make no mistake here, being cheap is the main part of their allure. If they lose that, then there are just one of a crowded field. The Smith SD series is now cheaper than most of the TP9s out there. That may now be a better deal.

This is how I feel about the gun. Didn't have a chance to do the paperwork yesterday, but when I get back to the shop next the vault in my car will have a new occupant once I shoot the snot out it.

So I should take with a grain of salt what you just said? _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

Anybody got anything to add to this thread? Updated info? Ran across an SFX and am seriously considering it. The internet as a whole seems to really like them. Looking at it as a range gun with a home defense role as well.

If it's within your budget, take a look at the Combat Elite Executive. It's a collaboration w/ Salient Arms and has the best trigger I've ever used on a striker-fired gun. The rest of the gun is pretty darn good too.

That's saying something considering the love the CZ 10C gets in most circles or the CZ line in general. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

I have several and they are great pistols. Get them now, prices will be going up. They have been under priced for a couple of years now.

I shoot frequently with Nills Jonasson ("at the same place as" would be a better description...my interaction with him was "you're Nills, aren't you?"), who shoots for Team Canik. He's ridiculously fast, and the Canik doesn't seem to slow him down any. I can't recall seeing one fail on him. If I wasn't so stuck into other stuff, I'd try one, other than an ongoing desire to avoid anything Turkish.

I shot a SFX last week. The trigger was not as good as internet claims. The grip felt odd. Function was weak with Federal aluminum. Function was nil with the ammo I load for Colt and Glock. Function was good with Federal JHP. I had been tempted by one from internet reports, but hands on cured that.

Yeah, the SF is definitely GTG. Since I started this thread under my old, now bricked ID, I've put a few thousand rounds through mine. To me it has the best base-level trigger of any factory striker on the market. The only striker gun with a "factory" trigger that's better is Canik's own Elite Combat Executive, and they had to go out of their own house to accomplish that. My only knock on the TP9s revolve around their ergonomics, which isn't as great a match for my now ingrained Glock muscle memory. -MG

Several years ago, I bought the TP9SFX to compete at my clubs steel matches. As someone else said, this has the best stock striker fired trigger out there. It's easy to get spoiled as very few triggers out there can compete with this. That includes the Walther Q5 match. As far as reliability goes, I had almost 2000 rounds through this with only an occasional run through with a boresnake. No malfunctions. I run it with a Vortex Venom. The pistol is also very accurate. 2" groups at 25 yds, from a sandbag. An 8" plate at 100 yards is easy (yes, easy, from a rest) to hit with the venom.
