Is there any difference in the older P239 in .40 and the newer 239 SAS in .40 as far as dropping in a .357 barrel for the SAS? I figure they would be the same but jut making sure.

steve495I think it's the same, But as I recall, the barrel may need to be fitted. I've got one in .40 and have a Barstow barrel for it and it had to be fitted.
The SIG barrels may be drop-in.

tleo205Thanks. I had a Sig barrel for my old 239 that just dropped in without needing anything else. I may have a problem finding a sig barrel for it though.

Excam_ManShould be no difference. SAS is just smoothing out the edges.
Even a factory 9 barrel will fit and function in the 40/357 version (P239).

TN MarkExcam_Man,
Great post, thank you! I have an older two tone P239SAS and a P229 both in 357Sig. I'm considering getting them both a Sig barrel and magazines in 9mm to make using them less costly. I love the 357Sig round but the price of ammo is certainly a consideration.

tleo205Thanks guys. I'm going to pick one up if possible. I've been doing some looking and getting the barrel looks to be difficult.
