I have the PPS Classic and have put less than 500 rounds through it without any problems. I find this gun uncomfortable to shoot, otherwise I would have a higher round count, but it is my EDC and I am comfortable carrying it.

I owned 2 Walther PPS Classics, around 500 rounds through #1 and 200-300 through the second. Sold them off, didn't like the flip/flap mag release.

Later I bought 3 PPS M2s. LOVED this gun, carried it daily for 10-11 months. #1 gun had around 1800 rounds - then noticed the peening, it looked like Woody the Fing Woodpecker went to work on it with a metal bill.

#2 gun was bought from a guy that stated that he had shot around 200 rounds through it - but decided it didn't fit his hands, I fired another 200 or so rounds through this one - it was showing signs of peening.

#3 Walther PPS M2 was sold off by me new - unfired.

I have the classic PPS. It shoots very well! It used to hurt my hand until I put a Pearce rubber grip on the PPS. It is not a range gun, but I do take it out often since it is in my carry rotation. I have avoided the temptation of buying the M2 because I like the grey slide and frame as well as the paddle mag release.

PPS M1 - Close to 2000 rounds. Accurate, easy to shoot, never an issue.

I have a PPS M1 with over 4000 rounds fired, I'm sure sure how many honestly. It started having extraction issues, so I sent it back to Walther. It was returned about two weeks later with a new extractor and spring according to the paperwork. I took it to range intending to fire 200 rounds or more, but began having extraction issues after about 100. It will be going back to Walther as soon as I'm back in the U.S. This is my second one, the first one was flawless. My daughter has that one now.

I mostly pocket carry a PPS M2 in the Summer months. No issue other than lint which is common.

Right around 1200, I'll guess, for my PPS M2. Very manageable shooter, can come with a nice trigger though mine didn't but has broken in pretty well. The last couple of times out I didn't log the round counts, mostly because I really didn't know for sure what they were. I brought the gun so others could shoot it and make comparisons to Shields, G43s, etc., and I actually didn't shoot the gun either time. I do know that it's run impeccably since the day I brought it home and took it to the range its first time. I've not had any issues with it (960 rounds for myself), and no one managed to get the gun to choke during those trial sessions, though one or two shot with a fair bit of weakness with their hold.

All that said, I do find myself looking for any signs of excess barrel wear and peening damage. A while back Walther reportedly made batches of barrels of questionable quality. Most involved the PPQ 45 but there have been reports of peening issues with other platforms as well, including the PPS M2. Based on the time frame, I'm fairly certain that my gun falls into that group. So far no signs of damage has shown up, but I continue to keep a watchful eye for it. Even though this damage so far has not affected the reliability of operation, it's still nonetheless unsettling.

I imagine that the annoyance (and a bit of dread) that I'm going through isn't much different than what conscientious 365 owners must face, though their issues are more significant and serious.

Own 2 "classics" because as a left-hander I like the paddle mag release. Not in my carry rotation though, my Kahr PM9 and S&W j-frame get that honor. I do use them as pocket guns when out and about in the woods.

Put 500 rds thru my older 9mm PPS, never a hiccup. I sold it because I did not like the mag release in the trigger guard.
