Does anyone here have a Sig Mauser M2?

I have a chance to buy one in .40 which is one of my favorite calibers.
I have a S&W 411, Steyr M40, Sig SP2340, Browning High Power, S&W M&P, and a S&W Shield which I carry as a backup every day.

I have a chance to pick up a M2 and am wondering if anyone here has any experience with them.

Best,
Charles

Great pistol! Makes a great candidate for an easy 10mm conversion at that.
Extra barrels are cheap and you just need to have it reamed to 10mm and you are good.

Magazines are cheap too so buy plenty as you have to remove the spine/spacer (I made that term up) for the 10mm rounds to function.

I need to actually take my gun and barrel over to the smith so I can finally shoot 10mm.

The rotating barrel makes for a nice, smooth, and soft shooting pistol.
Mine has plumed quite a bit. I like the plum look.

I've a couple of them. Including the ultra rare (ha ha) NRA edition in a special wood box. I don't know about the 10mm route but they shoot .40 fine. Its kind of a unique low volume gun with a unique operating system. I'd not hesitate to get one if the price reflects the fact that its an odd duck with no support.

Great guns.

This is one of my favorite SIG pistols. I will never understand why they did not continue with the concept

I currently own one that has only fired 10MM Auto ammunition.

As Black92LX mentions, this is a super straight forward conversion. Thanks to the rotating barrel design you do out even have to change out the recoil springs.

I have three barrels for mine, 2 in 10MM Auto and a third in the original 40S&W. I also grabbed a dozen spare magazines back in the olden days

I have been on the lookout for one of the pistols chambered in 357SIG or at least one of the barrels for almost 20 years now.

I previously owned one of the NRA 45ACP guns but a buddy of mIne had to have it so I sold it.

I was only firing the 10MM Auto version anyway.

I have one also, in 40. It's what brought me to the forum. It's a pretty good shooter. I do recall an earlier thread where one of us mentioned that the striker springs were a weak spot in this pistol; and the member referenced a guy who was a master at servicing them. Might want to search for that, and have it for reference just in case. The M2 got a lot of hoopla when introduced, but it stayed in production maybe only four years or so.

ETA: searched for but couldn't find that early thread regarding the springs.

Hi yall,
So 10mm fits the .40 magazines? Saw one at a LPS in .40 SW for $400+

Yes, after to remove the spacer that is spot welded on.

I had the .45acp, its beefy but it was a reliable good shooter, the safety always seemed flimsy to me but never had any problems with it.

I have one which I had converted to 10mm. The grip is, to me, at once quite comfortable and yet somewhat blocky. That said, it's a very smooth shooter, even with relatively hot loads.

I'm a fan, however I'm anti 40S&W if I could find a 357 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
