Bitten hard by the CZ bug! New Shadow 2 Orange
I have joined the CZ train and am looking into more of them. I love 45 ACP and wish to know more about the CZ 97B. Any experience out there?

Have the Shadow 2 Black, walked into the LGS and it was in the case, couldn't pass it up, made a deal and home it came. They've had a few of the AccuShadow's wouldn't mind adding one to the collection. Have a P-09 that needs to go to Cajunworks, would like a P-10F suppressor ready...

Then there is the Shadow 2 derivative called the Target II, which is basically a Shadow 2 that went on vacation to the CZ Custom Shop and came back all tanned, shiny, and buff.

As for the TSO (Tactical Sport Orange), it's been recently "replaced" by the TS2 that is another improved SAO version using the Checkmate frame, and there are 2 additional race versions of that TS2 (green and gold), although I don't know if they're coming to the States.

And then there's the AO1, built personally by Angus but that's a story for another day .... clear as mud?

Third from the top? OoooH, I like that one! Smile

I still love my SIGs, don’t get me wrong....

OP, your CZs are very nice! Enjoy them.

Thank you!! Will do;-}

Now send it to CZ Custom and let them work it over, and you'll REALLY be impressed.

The Shadow 2 is a tough gun to beat. It’s the DW 1911 of DA/SA steel comp guns. It’s the best gun for the money and it’s better than many more expensive options. Add the CGW Pro package and it’s heaven. Love CZ.

Just FYI. The Shadow Target II is not a Shadow 2 derivative. The Target II is a SP-01 worked over by CZ Custom. Different guns. I won't argue if somebody wanted to say some of the naming is confusing.

Start with the Shadow 2 as the "base model" and set the TSO aside.

Accushadow 2 - A regular shadow 2 worked over by CZ Custom. A number of things were done but the major thing being the addition of their ACCU bushing.
Shadow 2 Orange - Nobody official will say this but...*cough* this is sort of a CZ copy of the Accushadow2 *cough*. While I know there have been some major rules change in USPSA lately it at least was the case that the Accushadow 2 was not production division legal because it was not a factory gun. Enter the S2O...it's a factory gun Smile

Which brings us to your question about disciplines. CZ makes a number of pistols specifically targeted at USPSA/IPSC classes. For the S2 and S20 that's production.

Which brings us to the TSO. Totally different gun as sprg03-A3 pointed out. This is a very different single action gun meant for limited division.

One interesting thing you may notice if you follow the higher level (area, nationals, world) USPSA or IPSC matches is that while you will see many of the top shooters using a Shadow 2 (it's the most common production class gun) it's very rarely if ever a S2O. The way they've explained it to me is that while the bushing does increase accuracy it's basically moot for that type of shooting and they see no need to spend the extra money.

I don’t think the TS II is replacing the TSO either. It appears they both are in production still.

Made another trip to the range a few days ago after swapping out the mainspring for what appeared to be the lightest one. Results were a noticeably lighter trigger that is a bit smoother than the AccuShadow trigger, although maybe still a bit heavier. After all was said and done shooting offhand at 12 yards and over a bag at 15 resulted in very similar results. I haven't made any efforts to fund an ammo that it may prefer, just shooting whatever I have on hand. Very happy with the new S2O!

I really like the CZ Shadow 2! I have always thought about getting one. I would prefer the CZ Orange, but I don't know if my shooting skills would be able to tell the difference between the Blue or Orange.

Very nice looking CZ Family sprg03-A3!

Enjoy!

Thank you! I understand about spending the extra $$ vs the results. Given my shooting abilities I am not sure the results justifies the extra cash either, but I surely do appreciate the fine piece of machinery that it is, and the extra work that has been done over the stock pistols. I would imagine the S2O would tend to maintain its value to a greater degree than a standard Shadow 2 also.

I agree. I'll end up with the S2O probably. Go big or go home right!

I stand corrected, thank you. (But isn't the Shadow also a derivative of the SP-01?)

Yes. The various shadows (not shadow 2s) are basically a worked over sp-01. But there was also a "shadow line" at one point that included other stuff. Yeah...it gets confusing
