As if I needed another gun but that’s never the point. I flew down to AZ to v isit my dad in Scottsdale and he suggested we shoot a bit, I had my etc g19 with me so I figured what the heck, sounds fun. Since it was like 112 degrees in the shade we looked online and found an indoor range. Well this range/shop was also had a pretty decent selection of handguns, this is a game I’ve been out of for awhile, I just use glocks, a few Ruger revolvers etc and only own one sig now, a 229r circa 2007. Anyways this shop had most of the pistols available at little stands where you could actually hold them, test the trigger etc (connected to the stand by wires) I went over to the sig stand to see if there was anything new. I handled a 229 and 226 legion, 365 and the 320 (a few different versions). The legions felt great, much better than my 229 and the 226 seemed much more evenly than what I remembered but maybe that’s just me. The 365 seemed pretty nice but I have a g43 and a g26 which brings me back to the larger guns. The legions felt great, they had no 220s though, the 320 was ok I guess, one of them had a red dot sight which seemed cool. I don’t have a role I need to fill, I just want a new sig because they are nice guns and fun to own and shoot, legions seemed really nice in both 226 and 229, the 229 felt a bit better to me but I already have a lot of compact pistols (g19s) so probably more learning towards a 226. Who has a 226 legion here??? How do you like it and what’s a good price if I’m Shopping around??? Any reason to look at a 220? Caliber isn’t really important as I’m not filling a role but don’t want 40. 9mm, 10mm 45 only. Thoughts??? Thanks for reading.

Look for older German P220s. Then ship it to Gray Guns or Robert Burke. The results will be excellent. My tastes run to no rails or tails. If I was going the railed route, P220R stainless. You have said no 9mm, but IMHO, no Sig collection can be complete without a P225 Classic. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

P220 10mm. SAO optional but recommended. Because you already said as much in your opening post. P210A if you want to experience how the other side lives, shooting for the utter sake of shooting. Frankly I don't know how else to describe them darn alluring P210s.

My other Sig is a Steyr. |
As far as a new Sig filling the empty space, I'd agree with soggy_spinout and go with a P220 in 10mm. YooperSigs also has a good idea with the German P220s and they are available in 9mm and 45 (among others). Can't go wrong with both. Heck, I was just going to have one P220. Then I found another. A third one jumped out at me and then...

If you're talking new production Sigs, you can't go wrong with any of the P220, P229, P226 variations. Those are the top of the line Sigs that have been tested time and time again and found to be among the best firearms produced. The Legion is the top of the pecking order in those models and offers many premium features, although at a premium price. But since you're limiting yourself to either .45 or 10 MM, you are ruling out the P226 and P229, they don't come in either of those calibers. The P220 does come in .45 and 10 MM with Legion versions available. If your're leaning toward .45, then you might want to also consider the P227. It's not on your list, but it's still an excellent choice, but there is no P227 Legion for now. If none of those strike your fancy, then like other have said, look to older German Sigs.

Don't know how available they are in the U.S. but the P226 LDC is a really nice pistol, similarly priced to the Legend up here. ________________________ Sic transit gloria mundi Canadian Coast Guard - Retired

I have a 226 Legion. Good pistol. If you're in the Phoenix area, Pistol Parlor has one used in 9mm presently that's a few hundred less than retail, I believe. They're in Mesa. The P320 is a versatile pistol. I quite like it. The P365 is a question mark for now. People are having problems, Sig is denying, still. Take your chances, or buy one to find out. That's what I did. Still finding out. Go for something completely different. Get an MPX. It's hard to go too far wrong with a P220. Find one in 10mm. A P series classic is never wrong. Or go the other way and get another Glock. Check out a G41, or if you're doing Alaska, a G40.

Loving my P320FS. People can crab all they want about the teething issues but my early example has been one of my best shooting guns.

I wouldn't pass on the 365, I think it going to turn into "you will own a glock" type of deal.

Wife wanted to learn the secret handshake so we bought a 226 legion. Yesterday was first range day with it. Shooting this gun was a pleasure. We bought the Rx version but used the X-ray sights that came with it. (Didn’t have a lot of time to mess with Romeo.) it was dead on. The recoil was so minimal. I have a 320x5 that is also a great gun but This 226 is now our favorite gun.

Since you just want a new fun to own and shoot SIG, might a P210A be worthy of consideration? NRA Life

You can't go wrong with a classic (or Legion) P220 .45, P220 10mm, or P226 or P210 IMHO. Depending on what features you like most about the Legion, a used classic P220 or P226 with your choice of sights added (Trijicon HDs ) SRT kit and trigger job would make a heck of a shooter. I have a GGI tuned P226 with Trijicon HD's, P-SAIT trigger and I did all the action work on an old P6 with SRT kit install. Both guns now have outstanding DA/SA actions, very short reset, and shoot really well. “People have to really suffer before they can risk doing what they love.” –Chuck Palahnuik Be harder to kill: https://preparefit.ck.page

You can't go wrong with a P220, in whatever flavor. I'd take a P220 over any 1911, it's my favorite Sig. (Except the original P225). You will not regret a P220, ever. Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day
