I started with nothing, and still have most of it |
Went to a gun auction with a friend in PA Friday night, 100 guns, mostly handguns, no ammo or other related items. It was a mixture of average items and high end guns. There was no buyers premium, high bidder paid the bid, sales tax, and whatever the FFL charges for a transfer. The 239 was used but in nice shape, box and mags were original. Being out of state I did not want to deal with shipping, so did not bid. Other bargins: Ruger Pro 9mm with case and 2 mags $175, S&W 4003 Tactical .40cal marked Atlanta Police with original box and 5 mags $275, Ruger P85 with box and 2 mags $175, A S&W 2.5" M66-2 without original grips for $475, and so forth. I was amazed at how cheaply these went. Higher end guns seemed to go for more appropriate prices, but still not extreme. For example an early Colt 1911 Super 38 for $1750. My friend bought a NIB Super Blackhawk for $475. I would have been bidding except for the shipping thing. "While not every Democrat is a horse thief, every horse thief is a Democrat." $275? Someone bought 4 mags & got the 239 for almost free. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Yidn, shreibt un fershreibt" "The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them.
