monoblokP226, Navy, or Legion?... Navy! Update: Its here!
As for the PVD/Cerekote finish on the first Legions; the early Legions were indeed PVD in grey as stated previously. SIG actually made it a huge selling point at the time of release. For those who were around here at the time, you may recall that a few early adopters were quick to complain on how the the underside of the slides were not completely finished due to how the slides were handled and supported during the PVD treatment process, similar to issues with some Nitride slides in earlier SIGs. Premium dollars for a less-than-premium finish execution. Then more than a few of those same early customers who had the NERVE to actually HOLSTER AND USE a PVD Legion rudely found out just how easily that miracle 'super-duper' finish (at least as done by SIG) is damaged. Abrasion resistance purely and simply sucked, particularly with surfaces on the alloy frame. Small wonder SIG NH finally tucked tail and reverted to Cerakote as the fallback.
I personally liked the
look of the original PVD finish over the more "paint-like" Cerakote replacement, but its flaws in application and durability made it a predictable goner.

I wish I was as smart as cee_Kamp and not voted. I voted for NAVY. I am happy with that vote. However, had I been smart I would have done what c_K did. The 226ST is an incredible gun!

.38supersig^^^
Sounds good.
While I haven't shot a P226ST in 9mm, I do have a P220S (without the rail) in 9mm, so I can agree with this line of thought.

12131Even better, get the P226 SL Black Ilaflon in the Classifieds right now.

.38supersigNice!
Hopefully someone will buy the P226 SL before I keep staring at the pictures for too long.
My P226 Navy should arrive Monday. I'll try to post pictures if anybody is interested.

Blume9mmOf course we do!
I will never understand all these different variations on the P226... but regardless I like the pistol.

.38supersigSo I went to my favorite toy store yesterday. It had finally arrived!
I was able to snag a few boxes of CorBon 9s 45s and 10mm, filled out the paperwork, and took this one home with me:
Came with the box, lock, decal, manuals, and all of the other neat stuff that a new pistol comes with.
Thanks everyone for your input.
Enjoy!

Nice pistol, congrats!

David LeeVery nice P226 there. I like you have the threaded barrel for it.
March 31, 2021, 04:08 PM
.38supersigThanks!
I was able to get the threaded barrel in 9mm Para. The factory barrel is 9x21.
I had found a source for cheap 9x21 and thought this would be a fun addition to compliment my other P226s.

David LeeHoly smokes! I thought something was different. So its not really a Mark25? How did you find a P226 in that chamber?
March 31, 2021, 04:58 PM
.38supersigYup, MK-25.
I had asked around to see what was out there.
A friend of mine (who knows that I like this sort of thing) said he could order either of the three P226s.
A regular P226, P226 Navy, or Legion P226. All chambered in 9x21.
Either one would have been cheaper than what they are going for on Brokegunner (including the extra barrel).
The best way I knew how to decide was ask my fellow forum members what they thought about theirs.
March 31, 2021, 05:39 PM
David LeeIts real. Do they still put the Anchor on it? My guess would be for the European market.
March 31, 2021, 05:53 PM
.38supersigYup,
It has the shiny anchor tat on the slide and the chrome lined barrel. Plus it came with three 15 round magazines.
I was told that these were primarily made to be sold in Italy and this one had been sitting on a shelf for three years.

David LeeThank you. Very cool pistol.

Why? I would think that the RX/Romeo would be ideal when shooting suppressed!

Conserve LibertyI picked up my P226 Navy this morning from my LGS; paid full List Price and I am happy to do it. Born March 21, 2021. First time I have ever gotten to wipe the factory oil off the outside of a new Sig. Added the chromed/phosphate threaded barrel and a Sig OWB holster.
Honestly, the best
feeling pistol I’ve ever held. Were it not for the surprise plumbing issue that (of course) happened this morning with overnight guests arriving this afternoon I’d have cleaned and shot it by now, but my next stop after LGS was the local True Value.
