This one was brought up in THIS thread, but I didn't want to muddy OP's fantastic P228s any further. So, here it is, and that's all the info I have. I find it interesting that SIG DE wasn't able make it to work, when, at the same time period, Glock and HK were running away with polymer guns. Q

That's an auction description, right? Do you know what it sold for?

Have no idea if it was auctioned or sold privately, or how much it was sold for. Q

Thanks for posting! I’ve never seen that before. I also removed my comment from that other thread to not derail OP.

SP2340 came first. Perhaps around the same time frame. The Sig Pros hit it out of the park. Geez...the P228 is just fine in its alloy frame.

Yep, SP2340 and then a year later, the SP2009. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

I grabbed an SP2022 for less than $500 a year or two ago. These should have been a lot more popular but they were DA/SA as the word was changing to Glock type actions. DA is already better than most metal Sigs. Are there any mods like the Sig Armorer Sig Strut to smooth/lower the SA? The SA Strut and Spring in my P225A1 made a big difference...

Q as always thanks for sharing. Too bad no pictures exist of pistol disassembled to see how the frame looked like internally. I find it interesting they did not do any type of treatment to the front strap of the frame to aid in grip especially since they did on the alloy frame and were able to do checkering on the Sig Pro.

When they were new on the shelf, the SP2022 was $399 every day at Academy here. The Enemy's gate is down.

Between 2015 and 2020 I went through a few CZ P-07's. Really liked the lines and the look of this particular polymer DA/SA gun. I was an Sig guy through out the 90's, before transitioning to Glocks. Still owned a couple of P228's at different times, probably my favorite gun of the lineup. For different reasons I never cared for the Sp2022, or any of HK's polymer DA/SA guns. If this polymer P228 had been in production, with all of the bugs worked out, I likely would have purchased at least one of them, (likely two), instead of the CZ P-07.This message has been edited.
