Some gorgeous examples above^^.

When done right, HC is an absolute top draw finish.

Chuck Taylor was a big proponent. IIRC, Taylor used Metalife. Appears he was still doing business as of Dec. 2024.

Side note: overshadowed by some of the more popular names out there, RRA may be one of the ‘bang for the buck 1911’s out there.

$.02 worth/YMMV.

Despite some people's claims to the contrary, 5 lbs. is actually different than 12 lbs.
It's never simple/easy.

Love the chrome guns people have here though. That HK. Gorgeous. I had a chance to get a 1911 in it years ago. I regret that decision as they are the best looking pistols in Chrome.

Hard chrome is definately a solid choice.

Had Tripp Research hard chrome this tweeked 2" Model 15.

Also had them do a larger work over on this Colt Commander.

Many moons ago and both still looking good.
