I'm itching for a new gun. I don't have a need for a new gun but just a desire for something new or different. I do like to carry my guns even if just a few times so carry practicality is an issue but I'm 6'3 265 so carrying large handguns isn't an issue for me.

What I am leaning towards but none of these are set in stone. I'll know the gun when I see it.

No threaded barrel, not transferable to me.

Striker fired, I have come to appreciate striker fired guns for the trigger and simplicity. Again, I'll work around sa or da/sa but not da. I don't want the hassle of a decocker or safety but if the gun speaks to me I'll roll with it.

Optic cut but I don't want to have to use any sort of plate or adapter so rmr or rmsc cut is probably going to hold more value to me as I'll likely buy another holosun from bigbrad (plug for a forum member who has saved me a lot of money the past few years).

I also would prefer a metal frame. I'm not ruling polymer out, but I've already got multiple polymer striker fired guns and I want something with heft but not heavy as brick.

Those are my 3 guidelines. Other lesser desires are gas pedal/offhand rest, I would'nt mind something with a comp, and something sexy (subjective).

If anyone has some recommendations or experience with guns that fit or come in this style of gun then please let me know. I'm searching the internet but It seems I always end up with some sort of glock clone or another 229/226. I got enough of those already.

Already have 2 365's and one is my edc so I'm not really looking for a third.

Thanks though.

S&W M&P Metal in the 4.25” barrel.
No comp, however. The cerakote is pretty durable, holds up well, doesn’t rust when exposed to sweat, etc.
Excellent carry gun.

Sounds like a 2011 may fit the bill. I have been looking at a Commander length Springfield Armory Prodigy. At $1200 or so, I can try out the 2011 design before I pony up 3.5K for a Staccato.

Maybe the hammer is a deal breaker, for carry do you have an H&K with an LEM trigger yet? My favorite is the p2000sk, like my HK-45c also.

I will have to track down a metal M&P even though I've never owned a S&W mostly because of their looks not appealing to me.

The PDP metal frame is looking really good and I'm researching it now Thanks.

I do own multiple HK's, not a fan of lem. No metal frame which is one of the things im looking for.

2011 biggest claim would be the double stack mag, that doesn't hold much water in CT so I'll just go back to carrying my 1911 rather then dump money on a 2011.

thanks for all the suggestions guys. So far the pdp and m&p are in contention.

CT? I was mesmerized by the Italian colours.

A friend is very strong on the metal Canik Rival S. He has two, one iron sight, one optic.

Not many options in the metal frame category. The M&P metal 2.0 is quite nice and to me, has the most natural pointing grip/frame. The newer triggers are nothing short of amazing. The Walther pistols are nice but I have never owned one.

I have a Walther PDP full size (4.5") and just got the new PDP Match steel frame (5"). Very good guns, triggers, heft. I was pleasantly surprised; they are my first Walthers.

You might find the same. I've carried the PDP FS CCW often enough, IWB with a G-Code holster. No issues.

What about a P320 AXG Legion? Full size, great mag capacity, Holosun ready. The legions are better than the polymer frame in my opinion.

I think the best striker fired out-of-the-box guns on the market

I have both the compact and full size PDPs with 18 rd mags. Installed the Walther precision triggers in them and they are fantastic. The ergos are perfect for me and rival my CZs
