So the new Beretta 92X guns are hitting the streets. The new Centurion models are a nice touch as are the compact versions. the new non-rail compact looks odd. Previously 92 compacts had either a straight or slanted traditional dust cover. For this new non-rail version it looks like they are leaving the beefed up dust cover/rail and just not cutting the notches out? It just looks weird.

I’m waiting/hoping for a LTT version of the non railed. Looks a bit strange but it would definitely compete with my M11A1 for a metal carry gun.

Last Friday, I succumbed to the temptation to purchase a 92x Centurion...now no regrets, I love it! There is one downside. The leather holster I use for the 92fs compact does not fit the 92x. None that I have used for the compact(w/o rail) work with the railed 92x Centurion.

I actually like it. But I love the look of pistols with a full dust cover/monolith.

With Whisky22, I like it.....can't wait to get my hands on one, waiting for LTT to turn their's loose.

Straight DC harkens back to the original pre-96 designs. 9MM doesn't need a slant DC and as I understand it, the BUSA pistol product manager wanted the straight DC for classic lines. How it was achieved...well, it's a little different than the original 92 design but I'd guess they did the FEA work to determine the shape and ensure no frame issues; that's why that little ramp is there to transmit any forces to the frame without a stress point. +P+ should be no issue on that design.

The Vertec frame and slide are probably the future of Beretta.

With the frame you can have the smaller grip but if you want the bigger traditional grip, they have panels you can use. I think the M9A3 comes with the rubber ones and they make a hard plastic one now.

I'm debating a 92X Centurion. I think I saw $799 street price in a flyer somewhere.

Maybe I'm just too old school or something but I think they actually look better without the rail.

I picked up a 92X Centurion FR last week and love it. The Had never been a fan of the Vertec grip until I bought an M9A3 and now my other 92-series pistols just seem a smidge too chunky even with G10 grips. I can’t wait to get a set of VZ G10 panels on my new Centurion.

Dovetailed front sight, is a big plus. I wish the 92x Compact looked like it was in my safe.
