Clearly, he jsut said the frames need to be modified.

So, its Monday. Where's this explanation of what they're gonna do to fix it. I just want to see what they are offering, as mine has only made one range trip since I bought it.

GEEZ....... While it certainly is Monday, as I type this it is 8:30 am eastern time!
And to be fair, they have until 23:59 eastern...

I understand that people are anxious (hell, I own 3!!) but as long as SIG and GGI fix the issues I am happy with the results. Since I don't carry I will wait until after the initial rush as well.

Well I don't know how they are going to do it or what resources will be allocated but I can tell you it took about 4 weeks for them to send me a prepackaged BCG for my MCX during that recall. Sadly for those affected, I can't imagine with the amount of machining needed it will be quick. Add to that, what are the chances they have 500k parts on hand already. Although its only been a handful of times I've needed parts directly from Sig, every time I called they never seemed to have it in stock at the time and were waiting on a future delivery.

They are covering shipping.

Very wise. As mentioned above, now that the shipping issues has been addressed, the next critical judgement will be turnaround time.

Ever get the feeling Sig reads through these threads for guidance Big Grin

Just to keep things in perspective. While the handful of gun forums out there are all atwitter (pun intended) about this issue... in the context of "Social Media" this is a flash in the pan that nearly nobody cares about.

The Omaha video has garnered only 212,000 views over the course of a week. Sounds like a ton right? Every time Kim Kardashian paints her nails she gets MILLIONS of impressions.

In the gun world, this has been a perfect storm.
1. Spurious story ignites internet interest.
2. Company denies any and all possibility of drop safety issue
3. Internet discovers that the pistol is indeed prone to fire when dropped.
4. Company acknowledges the issue and issues a recall (upgrade?) whilst downplaying the issue by saying in effect... welp, all guns fire when dropped. (paraphrasing here)
5. Gun forums explode.

All of the above is utterly miniscule in the realm of "social media," and minuscule doesn't adequately describe how little attention this has received.

Sorry. Midnight shift this week. It's been Monday for about 12 hours for me, and not a very good one at that.

Will give them credit for covering shipping, but that should be front page of the website. Easier to find.

Is my P320 safe in its current configuration?
Yes. The P320 meets and exceeds all US safety standards. However, mechanical safeties are designed to augment, not replace safe handling practices. Careless and improper handling of any firearm can result in an unintentional discharge.

That's just rich.

At least they are offering to cover all costs. Which I guess is all one can expect, so Kudos.

For those of you interested in the inertial weight of triggers alone, I can report the following data:

Standard trigger 14.73 grams
Apex straight trigger 15.35 grams (+4.2%)
Adverse trigger 16.11 grams (+9.4%)

The Omaha store video explained that trigger mass was important in their testing, and lighter was safer.

Hopefully the announced fix will bring inertial mass even lower.

Any idea when they're going to release new fixed version of the gun? I was set to buy the p320c before this issue surfaced and would still like to get one, but buying the current version, sending it in, waiting an untold amount of time, is not something I want to do.

Both my manual safety pistols with exchange kits are submitted. I was concerned how they would handle exchange kits but they have a radio button to note if you have one or not.

It's also factual. It's why we don't look down the barrel of a loaded gun, or point them at people for the fun of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just filled out my online request. Took two minutes. It asks for the serial number and if you have any Caliber X-Change kits to send in along with the pistol itself.

The delay for law enforcement is if the pistol is an agency purchase or if you bought it under Sig's law-enforcement individual officer program. I bought mine from a dealer, so I'm considered a commercial customer under this program and will get mine done in this first go-around.

Out of frustration from all the BS that has been spewed over this issue: I don't care when the issue was identified, how it was identified, who identified it, what caused it to be identified, or where it was identified.

IMO, the bitching, speculation, and bashing should stop.

SIG is taking great care to rectify this situation, and IMO in the best possible manner.

Seems like a pretty straightforward fix. Likely a lengthy turnaround time except for the early guns, but a fix nonetheless.

I do think it annoying that the solution remains voluntary. Some numbnuts that can't even figure out which way the mag faces when he forces it into the magwell will end up seeing the 'voluntary' description and thinking that this is some overblown No Big Deal and will choose NOT to participate. And with my luck will be the noob in the next lane the next time I visit a public range.

Thanks for the update.

In the interests of not running the thread up to an even 100 pages. I suggest everybody read the Sig release. IMO. it answers nearly everything satisfactorily. Will cost zero and shipping schedule will be phased based on the incoming workload. In other words, everybody ain't gonna ship their pistols in at the same time. Well done Sig.

Please engage eyeballs before fingers. Cool

That was already done. these parts have been in the supply chain for a while. Parts are changed on a running basis since the day the handgun was released.

if that's the case, and they claim a fix was already in the works, why didn't they refuse to ship it to me? it didn't leave until Wednesday afternoon? How will the fix work if you have multiple frames? Gonna give me all new ones? I have 4 for my 9mm and now 3 for my .45...
