Stealth Arms Platypus?
I've seen a couple other threads on other sites about them as well as the linked video and some others. They generally seem to be reviewing well.

My order from April shipped today. Son is eagerly awaiting it. It should arrive Monday.
It's the 4.25" version.

Still haven’t shot the one my friend has. Neither has he. It just sits. Hopefully … soon.

I actually have 2 range sessions scheduled for Wednesday (dayshift and nightshift) so I will try shooting the Platypus during downtimes.

It's certainly interesting. If reliable this would be a nice option, especially in places where standard cap mags cant be purchased.

Son’s Platypus has arrived. Fit and finish are excellent. It’s smooth.
Regular Glock + baseplates fit. Shield Arms baseplates do not fit because of the pin. It hits the magwell.

I’ll shoot it Wednesday. Son can’t shoot it till Friday.

Quick update. Grip gets slippery after sweating for awhile. Gotta rethink this chainlink pattern. Glad he opted for the finger grooves.

We went through 6 different shooters today with it and only shot 500 rds. All using OEM Glock mags with various baseplates and stock baseplates. No issues at all. Everything fed and shot fine. Ammo today was Winchester USA9NATO 9mm 124gr FMJ.

Tomorrow night, my son and I will run 500 rounds through it. 300 rds of Federal 147gr FMJ and 200 rounds of Federal 147gr HST-JHP.

Is the grip portion polymer like the Staccato and Prodigy?

How is the accuracy?

If we got each other, and that's all we have.

No, alloy frame.

Excellent. My biggest gripe about those two guns. Just does not feel right in the hand to be polymer to me.

All metal gun. Solid weight to it.
We were hitting bowling pins at 75ft with no issues. Iron sights. I can’t find the holosun 507k I bought for this.

Just got home. Son and I put 300 rds of 147gr FMJ and 200 rds of 147gr JHP. No issues whatsoever. Other than a quick wipe with some CLP and a bore snake at the very beginning, it ran and ran. I'll give it a proper cleaning tomorrow and searching for a tool-less guide rod that fits it. I'm not fond of these two-piece ones that require a tool.

It shoots so well, we're not going to bother putting an optic on it. He's not used to optics anyway. I'm forced to use one at work so I've had practice.

HumbleMarksman has passed 1000 rounds with his gun. TL;DR is a great gun if you're willing to wait.

We did 250 rounds of Federal 115gr HST-JHP this weekend with no issues. It's really dirty now. So we're at 800 rds of FMJ and 450 rds of JHP with no issues.

I was planning on getting a Staccato P since I don't have one with the new grip texture and they're running a discount right now, but now I'm thinking of ordering a Platypus for myself hoping I can order it raw then send to CCR for some CPII and nikote.

Chowser, is the mag release polymer or steel? Does it seem to be eating the catch on the mags at all?

It’s metal but mags look fine so far. Probably won’t know until we get several more thousand rounds through these. We’ve got over 20 mags dedicated to the Platypus so a half case of ammo is about one time through a mag per session.

Anything new on these for those that have them? Considering making this a 2023 purchase for 2024 delivery as a year end present.
