Just picked up this Tisas Fatih B380 today. Seems like a really well made gun.
Anybody have any experience with one.

rat2306A few reviews of it are on YouTube; but not big names on it. I think the "B" in its model number stands for Beretta
. Reportedly, it's made under license from Beretta. Here's one take on it.

pedropcolaI don't think the Turks have had an original idea since the Crusades. On a better note, at least they didn't billboard that gun to death like Beretta would have.

metricIt's tragic that control of Beretta was taken away from people who make fine firearms, and handed over to lawyers who immediately converted every flat surface into a billboard for warnings, instructions, and exhortations to read the manual.
At some point they simply ran out of flat space on the gun. If there were more flat space, there would be more text, since the mission to make the gun idiot-proof is never complete. It would say something about how to use the manual safety or how to decock the gun without blowing a hole in the floor.
But, at least you can still get a Tisas. Look at how clean the Tisas is, by comparison.

But for resurrecting old well-loved designs I think the point about any lack of originality is by definition a non-starter, unless you're talking about very small improvements over the original blueprints without altering the overall feel and instant recognizability, and I don't think comparing a Turkish manufacturer with a sophisticated worldwide respected big name is a fair apples to apples comparison. These companies serve an important and appreciated niche imo.

Il CattivoTheir original designs are plastic fantastics that don't seem to sell well - or, at least, I've never seen one in the wild and prices are permanently low. See the Tisas PX-9 if you're really bored.
Other than that, I'm with wrightd. If you're in the mood to screw around with something cheap that you haven't tried before, the Turks will provide at least some worthwhile options.

GeoJellyI saw somewhere, but DNR where, that these aluminum-framed Tisa's have cast frames. Any evidence of being cast (casted?) on these? Metric is absolutely right - the Beretta billboard's look awful and ruin the lines of the pistol.

I tried these Altamont grip panels off my Beretta 81 on my new Tisas Fatih and they fit perfectly.

rat2306I was on Altamont's site the other day looking at Ruger grips, will have to go back and look to see what they may have for my 80X. Lots of billboards on it, too.

metricI have found that Altamont grips have some graceful curves and interesting wood colors, but they are super-fat to the point of distraction on 81's and 84's.
By contrast, LOK does the opposite -- they have some slim G10 grips that really have an excellent slim and grippy feel. They're not particularly elegant, though.
And of course there are plenty of wood grips somewhere between the extremes. Maybe a bit fewer if you're trying to avoid having a Beretta logo on a Tisas. But that still leaves plenty.

monoblok"Fatih"...had to Google the word. Means 'conqueror' or 'victor' in Turkish (and Arabic). "Tisas Victor'(?); make of it what you will. But I'm thinking that the Turks are the
actual victors courtesy of long expired patents and copyrights.
I'm kind of surprised they haven't been doing much with the CZ 75 pattern...oh wait...SAR 2000...<shrug>
I do really like my Caniks, though.

Trooper JoeThis SAF K-2, .45 ACP, is so accurate I thought I was missing the target at 15 yards. However, I was putting 5 rounds in the same hole. The KSD grip panels really topped it off. Several articles I read stated this was a better gun than the CZ 97-B, .45 ACP.
Picked this up in an almost new condition in January of 2023 for less than $400. Within a month I had two more SAR handguns (the SAR 2000 and a compact poly frame model). My buddies have talked me out of these last two but this K-2 is a keeper.

Trooper JoeFatih 13 grips from Turkey
Just received my new grips from jtacgripsusa in Turkey. He first sent me a set of grips that fit the original straight grip frame Fatih 13. I contacted him and he said he could make a set to fit the new style Fatih 13 with the slightly forward curve to the grip frame.
This is the original grip that jtacgripsusa sent me (with the stock grip laying next to the gun):

These grips are absolutely great. This is probably the first set jtacgripsusa made for the new style Fatih 13. They fit perfectly.

My wife tried and then purchased a Tisas px 9 Carry. So far she’s put about 200 rounds through it and is really pleased. As a bonus sig p226 mags work as factory in the gun. Quality seems just fine especially at the under $400 price point.
