Hello Everyone, I'm in the market for a P250 .45 and I'm looking for feedback on the subcompact vs. compact in terms of grip, accuracy, etc. I have shot a full size P250 9mm and regularly shoot DA with both other pistols and revolvers - so I know what to expect trigger-wise. I'm not interested in a P320. In .45, I regularly shoot a both a 5" and 3 1/2" 1911. I'm leaning towards the smaller SC, as a carry gun. I also like that it doesn't have a rail. Any thoughts? And anyone have one or the other they are thinking about selling? Thanks, ToddThis message has been edited. Last edited by: phxtoad, phxtoad "Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

You really need to handle an SC to see if you like the size.I like the size small grip and have smaller hands so the short SC grip fits me. You also could get the SC and buy a Compact grip and put the SC slide on it. I also use my SC slide on a FS grip.I cut the dust cover back to the length of the SC slide. I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!

My usual EDC is a 250 .45 Compact. I think it is too heavy to be a good SC. The Compact carries well, has a couple more rounds than a 1911 Commander but is very similar in size. Check Sigs website. I got a SC grip frame from there on sale for 10 bucks but have not used it. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I agree with YooperSigs, the SC felt unbalanced and top-heavy for me; the Compact is, "just right". I have come to a new appreciation of my 250, having installed the 320 flat trigger and added a pre-travel screw in the tab on the FCU.

Toad: If you want my SC Grip frame (its FDE) contact me on my private e-mail and I will send it to you for free. I doubt I will use it so it might as well go to someone who will. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

That's a kind offer, Yooper. Much appreciated. I may take you up on it if I proceed with picking one up. I'm still in the 'indecision' stage. phxtoad "Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

I have not t shot a 45 sub compact, but have a shot one in 9mm. I didn't care for the lack of space for my pinky finger to rest on. I know they have extenders and such to remedy this though. However, I have a compact with 9, 40, and 45 conversion kits. The 45 shoots as soft as the 9mm and the 40 is snappy as is expected. The 45 in subcompact should shoot well, if I could rest my pinky...

The SC is definitely a three finger affair with most hands. If you cannot get to an SC to try, test a G26 or P224, which are about the same. A C grip on the SC slide is best for me. BTW the 250 is one underrated gun. A real shame SIG cancelled them

You got a 320 trigger to fit in a 250 FCU? Any photos of how you did the pretravel screw? ---------------The Answer Is There Is No Answer---------------

The 250 has long been a favorite of mine in every iteration. I’ve always loved small guns and I carried the 250 SC 45 for over a year and then switched it over to 9 mm. Eventually I replaced it with a different gun.

I have lived the greatest adventure |
I carry a P250 - a compact slide with a subcompact grip module. But I also use compact mags with an X-Grip mag adapter to give me enough grip to grab. I don't like rails on my carry guns. Phone's ringing, Dude.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I decided on getting the 250c. I won a GB auction on a ‘minty’ one last night. Looking forward to receiving it. Yooper, I will be in touch. Todd phxtoad "Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

I was about to ask why you didn't just go with a compact grip module, but your last sentence answered my question.
