I think I'll just clean and lube my old Browning, until I get elected Keeper of Arab Nationalism or Dean of Arab Rulers or Head of the Coalition of Coast and Desert States, or neighborhood HOA Grand Tyrannical Poohbah "TALO Distributors has teamed up with EAA to introduces the Gersan High Power Negotiator. I get it but I don't also. Everytime I'm in a gunstore I see one of two people. Those that have no idea what they want and those that know exactly what they want, with the former far outnumbering the latter. Most of these folks I witness are sold a 9mm polymer pistol of some sort. But in general they are pretty basic. Therefore that means, based off my limited sample size, that these type firearms are being sold to folks who know what they want and are purposefully choosing these. Are there that many new handgun enthusiasts who are actually attracted to this shit? Slide ports, gold small parts, and all? I've never been fond of a beavertail on a HP, but that's just me. I've seen a few small tasteful ones but most, due to the angle always appear exaggerated, like this one. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

I swear I had something for this |
A beavertail on a Hi Power is the only way I'll shoot one, and the Girsan is well integrated into this model. However, I think TALO is getting sloppy seconds because Davidson's got this one as their exclusive model: https://www.americanrifleman.o...girsan-mcp35-pi-ops/

^ I like that. As to the first one, well, when you're a dictator, once you've executed enough people, nobody's going to be willing to call you out for your poor taste in guns.

Looks better than the “new” FN Hi Power IMO. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

Rit up der witcha Chino maid Rolexx wach and Lewy Vittoon purs. Dem folk wit po tast en lo IQ gotta half der guns two, y'no... Lightning cuts to go with their Thunder bang. That's some storm. I think Girsan has fill a niche. What niche that is...well, make of it what you will. The sad part is I know full well that we have a large customer base that will lust after guns like this. Military dictators need not apply. -MG

I’d buy that Davidson model. I think the beavertail is still too exaggerated but it’s acceptable. That “thing” from TALO? It’s a real quick no from me, thanks!

That's an interesting comment, 1KperDay. What is it you do not like about the 'new' FN High Power (like this black finished example), but makes this particular Negotiator look better? ____________________

I'd rather have the new FN High Power. Q

I handled a new FN High Power and what I recall is it didn't feel much like the originals. It seemed much larger for one thing. The finish was dull as well. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I swear I had something for this |
1) It's a Hi Power in name only. 2) Doesn't take any Hi Power accessories. 3) Costs about 2x more than the majority of the Girsan P35s. 4) Is fatter in every dimension and in weight (32 oz vs 40 oz) than the svelte classic 5) For the size and cost of the gun you might as well buy a P226 Legion SAO for a better gun with more aftermarket and better options or go with the original classic for less money (or an SA35 now that they're fixed).

the grip's wrong, the slide's wrong, the frame's wrong. If you're going to make a HP, make an actual HP. IMO. Otherwise it's a very strange choice and IMO this pistol will go the way of the Dodo in fairly short order. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

1KPerDay's comment was about looks, appearance, and so was my question. Items #1, 2, 3,and 5 are totally irrelevant. If #4, its that much 'fatter in every dimension ... than the svelte classic", its not easy to see with online photographs. ____________________

Even with the looks, I'd still take the Negotiator over the Faux Power even with the looks because 1 is a Hi Power and the other is not. And you really can't tell the new High Power is fatter?
