I have a 3913 that might have been an ex-Israeli pistol. Thing was almost perfectly pristine on the inside. It is reliable and the only fixed sight Smith Semi that shoots dead straight for me. A gem.

Love me some 3rd gen Smith's. Never had a 3914, though. Congratulations on your fine acquisition.

Very nice. In the late 80’s-90’s I carried a 6906 on duty and a 3913 off duty. The 3913 was my summer gun, winter I’d carry the 6906 off duty too. Shot and placed well in several police shooting competitions in the FOP. I miss those guns and the 20/10 eyesight that helped get the most accuracy I could get from those fine weapons. Now I only have a 1006 but your post brings fond memories.

Not the greatest trigger in the world, but still a nice pistol for that time.

Para nice pistol had one just like it. I also bought mine at South Eastern. Sad part traded it for a Glock Gen 1 so I could have more rounds on hand while serving warrants for Fulton County SO...vi

The 3919 vs the 3913 LS (Lady Smith). What are the differences ? The frame looks cut down somewhat on the LS, but I never understood the real differences. Was the point to help if fit better in a purse or something along those lines of thinking back then ?

We had the Israeli engineers back over for a BBQ and shoot today.

They ALL knew the 3913. They knew it so well that they all were zinging the 5" targets at 50 yards.

They were fascinated with the Sig M18, calling it the Army Gun. They LOVED my CZ Shadow.

The only differences are the slope of the frame from the trigger forward, the color of the grips, and the markings. Purely aesthetics, for marketing purposes. Zero functional or internal differences.

They also offered the nearly identical 3913NL, which was a 3913LS without the Lady Smith markings, for guys who liked the sloped frame look but didn't want to own a "lady's gun".

Also a kind of (can't think of a better word) "frosted" finish on the metal, and a single-sided safety lever. I owned one of those for a time, and still have my "man card."

IIRC, S&W used both single and double sided levers on the 3913 family in its various iterations and production runs over the years. So while it's true that most 3913s have ambi levers, and all the LS/NLs have single-sided levers, that's not wholly unique to the LS/NL models.

Now THAT is interesting. A testament to the success of that line. Thanks Rogue

marsy costing me $ yet again. After reading this thread, and recalling the CS9 I had eons ago as my first carry gun, I found a new old stock 3913 TSW with 6 mags. Needless to say it is no longer unfired, initial range trip was today and that thing is a keeper. Good find for you marsy, these 3rd gen Smiths are great.
