My P30SK LEM is very accurate and very reliable. It is a good option.

If you can, try LEM before you buy.

I converted my USP to LEM and promptly switched back.

I just did not like it. I prefer DA/SA but that's probably because I grew up on the Beretta.

Not minority enough!

Would like any thoughts, opinions or recommendations from those of you who have actual trigger time on one or all of these three models. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I don't own a P30, but I do own a few HK's. I ankle carried a P2000SK for a while, and I do like the HK45C and UPS45C. They're reliable, easy to shoot, well made firearms. They're a bit big an blocky compared to others, and their capacity is limited. The double action triggers are gritty and poor out of the box, but serviceable. They're terrible compared to a Beretta or Sig.

HK's tend to be pricey, and you'll have to decide if you think they're worth it. They're good choices, and they're quality firearms. Of my HK's, I'd choose the HK45C for personal carry, and have in the past, though presently I carry a Glock.

I agree on all fronts. I LOVE my HK45 and it is my house gun. Utterly reliable and ACCURATE. Terrible trigger...gritty, long reset, heavy etc. Hey...it's a combat trigger.

Still though....I love HK's. My carry gun now though (and IDPA) is a Sig. The trigger is a big part of that.

I have the USPc 45 now and previously the USPc 9mm. Love(d) both. I'm not trigger sensitive, never appreciated a difference between factory HK vs pretty much any other trigger. I aim, I squeeze, it shoots.

I prefer the USP over the newer series for price and I don't feel the need for adjustable grips and the like. Nothing wrong with that, just not needed.

Reliability is fantastic as others have mentioned. A friend of mine in an overseas special ops group use the USP full size 9mm; not much size difference between it and the compacts. Can't go wrong with any of them.

After 35+yrs shooting almost every make/model/caliber, finally acquired an HK, P30Lv3 specifically. Definitely better made than ANY other pistol available, 100% QUALITY! That being said, I'd never buy another one! HK pistols must be an acquired taste, I like ALL my other pistols much better, in every department!

The lineup has grown and changed a bit since this pic but count me in for the LEM being my preferred trigger for HK

I have a P30 with Grayguns Reduced Reset Carry Perfection Package. The trigger was OK, as far as I was concerned, before going to Grayguns. Now it's sublime. Cool

The LEM is great for being a consistent trigger pull on a pistol with zero fuss required. Basically similar in operation to a Glock. Problem is the very long trigger travel involved is hard to get used to.

Like Chowser, I currently have my HK P2000sk .357 in DA/SA.

I'm really preferring the the striker action of my VP9SK much more than I ever did the LEM action of the USP Compact I used to own. The only downside is that there's no "second strike" option like the LEM has.

You may wanna give a VP9 a spin just to try it out...

I have the USP 45 Tactical. It fits larger hands, might be a problem for holding/shooting if your have less than medium sized hands. I am 6' 160 lbs and I can shoot it comfortably. Trigger is stock and very nice. I use the Colt 1911 .45 as my standard, the HK is impressive in its soft recoil. Dry firing can be deceptive. The polymer lower makes it lighter and dry firing, to me, makes it seem like a toy. Put ammo in it on range and it breaks clean and is a pure pleasure to shoot, like it was a completely different weapon.

If/when I get another it will be the same model in 9mm.

Really the only HK I've been able to keep in my stable is the excellent P7 series. I'm at the same place with current HK as Glock. I respect them but I don't choose them over Sigs, 1911s, CZs and a few others. No offense to those who like them, choice is fantastic.

I love my USP40 Compact with the LEM trigger. The VP9 is also rapidly becoming a favorite.

Lots of good choices.

Mine is cool. Trigger sucks but it is built like a tank and works perfect suppressed. Think I'm gonna try the LEM trigger because I have been told that it is very much like a Glock trigger which I have a lot of time on.

For ME:
DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9
Striker fired= Glock 9mm
If it's a .45= 1911
Suppressed= HK in .45
I like anything in 10mm

The LEM is NOTHING like a Glock/striker trigger or any other striker trigger. It's more like a super light double action only. Lots of very smooth takeup.

I mean it's like a striker in that most of the time you will always have the same trigger pull each time barring a hammer drop on a dud or empty chamber which will result in the standard heavy double action pull until the slide cycles back to the light pull.

Own several HKs. The P7M8s have great triggers. The 45C and USPc not so much. They stack and feel mushy. Sent them to Rick Holm at Lazy Wolf (ex Grayguns HK specialist) and now they are wonderful. Fantastic pistols!

I am sure the OEM triggers are great combat triggers, but I am spoiled being used to 1911 triggers, and wanted better. Rick does very good work.

Only a small sample here.
Wife's former boss has/had a USP45C that I got some time with. Good shooter, but not near as good to shoot as his P220ST.
A couple of us rented the 'gun of the month' at the LGS, HK45 with suppressor. That was a real sweet shooter, but didn't shoot it un-suppressed.

I have the P30L,P30,P30sk,P7M8, USP Compacts...all 3 calibers...HK 45 and 45c, P2000sk, VP9, you get the picture...
All DA/SA except for a USP Compact 9 in light LEM. In my opinion, the LEM is the best and safest self defense trigger out there. I even kept the safety when I had the gun converted to LEM. I draw and flick off safety at the same time, and I pull the trigger if needed. Nice light long pull...idiot proof. Virtually no chance for a AD/ND. I like I can stage the trigger also if I like.

I have experience with the USP platform in 40S&W and 45acp. I find the D/A trigger to be spongy on the USPs the S/A trigger is good not great. That being said, I find it to be extremely accurate, 5 shots on a playing card consistently at 10 yards. Out to 15 yards when I'm really feeling it.

God bless America...and no one else

Love all my Hk's! Everyone of them worked by Rick Holm. They come back kicking ass and being what a top notch pistol should be. He's currently working my 226 Legion and I'm getting ready to send him a FDE and ODG VP9 to do complete Action jobs. Nobody better than Rick!! Nobody
