Hi, First post, First sig, just picked it up last week. After 300 rounds it functions well, groups really well for a smaller carry weapon, only issue is the ridiculously hard to load magazines-do those springs need to be that strong?(lol)...

I want to move the POI up, all my other handguns shoot 6 o'clock and I don't want to adjust my hold for just one gun. I don't see A #8 front sight listed on the Sig sight, is there someplace else I should look? I have found sets of other brands but I'd just like a slightly lower one of the same type I have.

I'd like to add the safety, I use a S&W439 and am used to a slide mounted safety. This one is lower like a HiPower and I wonder with large hands can it be accidentally flipped up under recoil and rapid fire.? I'd like some opinions on the safety from folks who have had this model for some time...

Thanks,
60

Just load the mags to 11 for now, assuming you live in a 'Free state'. You might even leave them loaded to take the edge off of those new mag springs. Once they're broken in you can load 12. Regardless, get an UpLULA to reduce the abuse to your thumbs!

Good luck on changing the sight picture. SIGs designed for are 'Combat Hold', and in the case of the P365, you're limited to changing the front sight only anyway options for replacement sights are kinda limited.

Welcome to SIGforum! Cool

Edited for Accuracy - Forgot the rear sight was separate from the RDS Filler Plate on the XL. Wink

First off, welcome to Sigforum!

Yes the magazines are extremely stiff. They should get a little better with time.

I currently own 2 XL's, both none safety models. My wife claimed the first one I bought. 1st one has approx. 500 rounds down range with no troubles at all through 8 different magazines. The second one has at least 100 trouble free rounds through 5 or 6 different magazines.

Not sure on the sights. The factory set works for me. I always tend adjust to the gun if it close.

I have no issues with carrying these guns without safeties. IMO they are not needed, but I understand personnel preference.

Dawson Precision for front sights, and they have a handy sight height calculator so you can get exactly the POI you want.

Yes, UpLULA is a must for a P365 owner.

If I may add, as you get older, they are just a must. Wink

My guess is that you are anticipating the recoil, and pulling the barrel down as you pull the trigger.

I went to the range today and shot from a good rest and off hand, the gun shoots just like they say, combat sight picture and it shoots right on the dot and groups well. I just like them to print right above the front sight. I called Sig and spoke with their customer service, real nice guy who explained things. They shoot each gun and install sights as needed so it shoots right on the front dot. My gun has A #6 front and rear, if I put on a #8 front it raises POI one inch at 25yards, #8 rear sight raises it 2". I'm thinking I might try the #8 rear first, most of my shooting with this gun is below 15 yards so that will give me an inch at that range. I still have not decided on the safety but I'm thinking I will carry it without one for a while before deciding...

Thanks All.

I have one that I carry daily with the safety. I never have it on safe and the safety is so small, you will never accidentally engage it Smile.

Welcome to the forum.
The 365 safety is frame mounted not slide mounted. Easy enough to add or delete by getting the parts and correct grip module.

I have the 365xl with safety bought in error. Long story but they went to grab one off the back shelf and wrang me up and I wasn’t paying close attention during paperwork. It’s easy enough to remove if carried it more. I ccw a smith 642

If you stuff your mags and leave them loaded for a while the springs will loosen up a bit.

doesn't mean you should

Another option for the safety that I use.
I carry in a ALS Safariland shell that's inside a shoulder holster, but use it when the gun goes in to prevent any possibility of trigger interference. Once inside, click it off so there's no issue forgetting.

I carry mine safety-on. It's never come off, nor bumped ON without my conscious input. I've never been down with the "You'll forget your safety" naysayers.

Have you ever forgotten where your mag release button is?
Have you ever forgotten to press down your slide release(if you still train that way)?

It's just a matter of repetitious practice.

I found that the SpeedBeez loader specific for the 365 works better for me than the UpLula. It locks onto the slide; with the UpLula a short 10-round mag is awkward to use.

I don't know how I survived this long with out the UpLula loader, it even worked on my single stack 10mm mags. I do agree with the comment about shorter mags and have seen the Speedbezz one, I may try it.
I've done a bunch of looking around about the safety and I'm going to order the kit, there is a way to cut off the right side dog ear and just have to one for your thumb if you are a rightie...Thanks for the comments about it...
The sights are still an issue..It came with 6s and I ordered a set of 8s and put the front one on, that was a job it was so tight. It only raised the POI a tad and I didn't take a picture. So I installed the #8 rear and it shoots lower, I had taken a quick look at the number with my so-so eyes but I put an 10x ring on it...its a 5, did not know they even made those...Plus I always polish the bottom to ease installation and not mar the dovetail so I wonder if they will take it back...I'm a little pi$$ed..at myself for not measuring it first...
Here is my starting point, as you can see it groups well, the three fliers are me and the trigger not getting along... 10 shots at 10 yards slow fire, 6 oclock hold right on the bottom edge of a 2" circle..I want them up about an inch..
(LOL, After I typed that I found you can't post a pic here unless you use a hosting sight, seven shots were one big hole the other three were a tad outside it, I'll look for s site later)
